Oh no Code. Try the bicarb in water to at least make it burn less.

Andddd...now I have a yeast infection. Doing well here. But I do feel less weak and am out of bed for the first time in 10 days so things are getting better!

JM, I gave in and purchased a curry hamper from Approved Foods. I will let you know what it's like!

I would love to try the 5:2 diet. It would be bad for my body, though and I actually 'enjoy' fasting so much that I doubt very much that I could eat normally after a day. There would be a huge temptation to continue fasting for a lot longer (likely ending in a huge binge). As much as I would like to say that I could resist the reality is that I probably couldn't, I get an almost high feeling from being empty and as much I can tightly control my ED I am not capable of it with such a temptation.

You're right WaS, and I think some of your meds must be taken with food. Plus as you said, in your particular case, you need to eat little and often , because of all your syndromes. Your situation is very, very individual and complex, so I really wouldn't risk upsetting the delicate balance you've achieved so far.

This cough is really taking its time in going. It is improving, but I'm staying in bed today, too.

  • Aw, yes stay wrapped up warm, Pyxis. Are you still taking antibiotics? Any sweeties to suck? They helped me a lot when I had the non-stop cough from a chest infection last time.

I have a mouth ulcer now. I think I might be a tad run down...

No antibiotics. The vast majority of coughs and URTIs are viral, so absolutely no point in taking antibiotics which only ever work against bacteria and never against viruses.
I do feel very strongly about that, as it's the reason why we're in such a mess with antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

But!!! Your situation is very different, WaS, so don't worry!
I'm just talking about the millions of people worldwide who run for the antibiotics every time they get the slightest thing.
Even the colour of phlegm isn't an indicator of a bacterial infection.

In my personal case, I would only ring the doctor if I started to run a high temperature plus extremely purulent phlegm and/or it was making the asthma really bad. On Wednesday I thought I might be starting that, but then it settled down again.

Well, there wasn't any point in ringing him. What could he do for a viral infection? Nowt!

I've been inhaling the Rosemary oil for three days. Who knows if it's helping? Have also got that new herb-based cough mixture, but really, these things only help the symptoms. The only thing that defeats the viruses is one's own immune system, and that can take 1-2 weeks or even longer.
What annoys me is that I get loads of respiratory things! But they don't know why!

  • How annoying that they can't find out why, especially as you have asthma, too. It sounds as if you are doing all of the right things, I suppose it's just a question of waiting it out. Lots of sleep and children's tv sounds good!

Yes! But do you know, I've rediscovered the Agatha Christie Hour on Drama! These were lovely little dramas using Christie's short stories! They were made in the 80s, and I didn't see all of them at the time.
They are very well made with a lovely attention to period detail!

I've always been a huge fan of Christie.
One has just started, if anyone's interested!
