JM that sounds like a lovely idea, and also spreads the 'load' beyond the tight Christmas period!

No need to answer on here, but if you left the previous place there must have been a reason - does that still apply? Just qive a quick thought to whether this move is right for you in the slightly longer run, not just because at the moment you're frazzled and running around in circles with all the family stuff.

Purely because it was a contract role so went in to put a HSE system in place for them the lad he sent off to do IOSH so he could be HSE Advisor isn't up to the role and he wants some additional quality stuff doing.

The other role I like most of the people there and job is ok
  • Good morning all! Hope our poorlies are feeling better today.

It's another day in bed for me. I am torn about my physio exercises. I can barely move because of the pain in my neck and back but I have no idea if this is because of flu or because I haven't done my exercises for a week, or both! Doing them could either help or make things a whole lot worse. Decisions...

I received an appointment today for the beginning of February for the bone aspiration to try and figure out what is going on with my high white blood cells. Not looking forward to it!

Tell you what, depending on the time of day of your appointment, and what the instructions re. aftercare are, why not combine the day with a planned outing, to a forest or isolated bit of beach, for afterwards? That way, the trepidation might be defeated by the anticipation! :)

  • Good morning, Pyxis! How are you feeling today?

Ooh, that's an idea! We could take WaSp's new telescope and look at things! The appointment is 8.30am and I am to expect to be there for 4 hours so we could either do something afterwards or a spend a night looking at the stars and go straight there. Anything to make the idea more pleasant is helpful!

    8.30 is a brilliant time!

I'm still not good. Yesterday the cough was worse. Plus I also felt a bit achey and hot/cold. Today I'm not so achey, but am quite wheezy with the cough, although it is a loose cough. Don't feel too awful if I'm in bed, but if out of bed, like getting something to eat or drink, I don't feel brilliant.

By the way, the Sound of Music is about to start on Bbc1, for anyone who wants to see it yet again!

    The HILLS are ALIVE!...............

  • Put like that the hills are alive sounds like a horror film! I have seen the Sound of Music, I can't remember it upsetting me unlike when I watched The King and I finally, and had a breakdown for a week after he died.

Aw, sorry you still feel ill. Does sitting up help at all with your chest? When I had pneumonia much to my annoyance I was forced to sit upright in bed or a chair everyday because apparently it helps remove the gunk. Mind you, the same doctors had me walking around the hospital grounds on day 5 whilst telling me that fresh air and exercise would help keep everything moving. They were mean! (but effective).

I love the Sound of Music. But I always shout at the tv telling Liesel that Rolf is no good.:rotfl:

Its my last weekday off work. I'm back on Monday and I have the fear already.

  • I hope that you can make the weekend a good one, code. I used to dread going back to work after a holiday, I think most people do. Even now I am sad that Christmas is over because I didn't really get to celebrate it, we both still have wrapped presents here. We are saving them until 7th Jan for the Russian Christmas. Or rather WaSp is being told that he is saving them until then and yes, he will be celebrating.

Yes, it's a balancing act between keeping things moving and resting! I get up quite a few times to make drinks and longer periods to get food, but if I start to,feel, wobbly
I go back to bed, propped,up, unless I am very tired or feel rough, then I lie down.

I'll breathe in some Rosemary oil steam ina minute.

Code, I know just how you feel.
One thing I found that helped, is to get everything ready for work on Monday, like now!
Get your clothes ready, your bag/case/whatever, and plan your packed lunch/get the containers ready, and whatever you can of.the food.
Get everything ready now, as if it were Sunday afternoon.
Then when it's all done, you can switch off and enjoy the weekend, knowing that there's no need to think of work until Monday morning.

I found that really helped. It helps to take away the sense of panic, I find.

I still do similar things if I have a class or appointment on a Monday.
