    Oh I loved it!
I loved all the dog animals, but the Xmas turkey and the robin were the funniest!
    Brilliant!
Well done that man! And well thought out!

(Now I'm watching Despicable Me! Well, we do a Zumba dance to the theme tune song, and I never knew where it came from, so it's in the nature of Research, you understand!)

Today was spent at work, I was dreading it as I thought it would be really busy but it actually wasn't too bad. And I got to see my best friend and his gf, they popped in to see me. My friend actually has a baby bump now! She's 6 months in :) they were buying a pushchair and other baby things. Can't wait till the little one arrives he's going to get spoilt rotten :D

And I treated myself to Chinese when I got home :o

Now watching a documentary on a nudist village

I had a horlicks true rock and roll.

Feeling guilty about work. Due back Monday but can go back somewhere I contracted that's walking distance would make the care stuff alot easier.
Am I evil if I just leave, am on a weeks notice really can't handle the commute followed by the attempt to win hearts and minds, then running around feeding 3 dogs in 2 houses, walking 3 dogs in 2 houses having a moody and upset 14 year old, 26 year old who's upset a 22 year old who's hiding. A MIL who today was horrible and nursing a SIL.

On the plus point love my new hair as does his royal highness.

Well done on the crumpet, melly! I joined you and had one for Pyxis, too!

Oooooh, Mary Poppins! WaSp got that for me for Christmas and believes that there is absolutely nothing triggery in it. I have never seen it (I have never seen Chitty Chitty Bang Bang either).

Chitty is an ace film the child catcher might be a problem for some he terrified me when I was a kid (still does)

How can looking out for yourself be evil? If it was the other way round and the employer no longer needed your services, do you think they'd give more than a passing thought to letting you go?
Loyalty should go both ways, and if they want to retain good staff they maybe need slightly better terms and conditions than a week's notice on either side.

One of the factors in my recent job searching was the length of the commute and the impact it would have on home life.

Feel like I'm letting them down because I am an idiot. The previous place is offering a perm 3 day a week job but will be flexible with days if I want to contract.

No need to answer on here, but if you left the previous place there must have been a reason - does that still apply? Just qive a quick thought to whether this move is right for you in the slightly longer run, not just because at the moment you're frazzled and running around in circles with all the family stuff.

On the other hand it might be kind to at least talk to them and tell them of your predicament, Mellymoo, and how trying to do everything for everybody was making you ill, then at least they'd know you weren't just walking out on a whim.
Plus it wouldn't affect any future reference from them, if you front up and explain things.

At the end of the day, though, you have a lot on your plate, and so anything that would make things easier for you has to be better. :A

Edit. What Elsien just said makes sense too. Were you happy there before, or were there things that weren't right for you?

  • ^^^^^ she speaks wise words :)

Tomorrow is our family Xmas day - the three sisters are meeting up with spouses (spice?) and kids where there are any. We always go to a lovely hotel which is about halfway between the town and country mice. Sadly one BIL is in hospital, but I'm hoping we'll still manage a lovely day.
