A happy story from my childhood.

We always used to be given cod liver oil capsules (I'm not sure how often) and hated them. I was the oldest of three, and my next sister and I hated them. The youngest was judged too young to share the experience, but begged and begged to be allowed to try one.

One day my mother decided to give in, and gave her a capsule. Rather than swallowing it quickly and whole, as we had learnt to do, she bit into it. Her whole face distorted in dislike. Mother asked how she liked it.

'Ooooo', she said. 'It's absolutely DELICIOUS!'

We all collapsed laughing at her attempt to pretend she was enjoying the experience! :rotfl:

  • Hahahahahaha! how cute! She wanted to be like her big sisters and save face. Does she still get teased for it?

    I've been Money Tipped!
I had critters for siblings. My mother used to go through phases of giving as a spoon of malt. I'd get the first spoon ful. Then she'd go down the line of dogs.

As an adult it occurred to me, she only used one spoon, so while I had the first spoon ful, the tin/jar was full of dog saliva!

Yes, we still tease her - although she doesn't remember it! :D

    It says Omega 3 Fish Oil 1000mg. Total Omega 300mg. EPA/DHA 260mg

Hmm. Am surprised it doesn't give you a figure for each of them. My has, in 1000mg of fish oil, 300 mg EPA and 200mg DHA.

This, I think, is where the difference in prices comes in.

Could you ask your optician to recommend a brand, and maybe even the dosage?
Mine say 2x capsules /day, although I now only take one as a maintenance dose, after about 9 months of taking 2/day.

    I love

  • Hahahaha, LIR sharing with your doggy siblings taken a little too far!

Ok Pyxis, I can email her and ask about it. I just grabbed the first one I saw, I had no idea what I was doing really.

No probs, WaS! Taking some is better than none, but obviously, for you especially, taking the right dose for your eyes is better in the long term! It's not urgent, so please don't worry about it! :)

Have you told your partner about the bus incident, WaS? He needs to know so he can help you with your new, improved life.

  • I haven't, whitewing and I really must. I shall sit him down at the weekend and tell him. If I haven't managed it by Sunday night everyone kick me!
