Have a look at zipvit.co.uk for omega capsules etc. I have always found them fast, friendly, very competitively priced and really helpful if you ring them up.
What a busy day you're having, and it's only lunchtime!

  • Thank you, Solar! I have to say the supermarket wasn't the cheapest for a high dose and there was only one type, hence I thought that was it. I will be on these for life if they work so I need a good supplier (that sounds bad).

Just looked up my omega 3 sources. Some comes from anchovy, herring, sardines, some from other oily fish. There's one that comes from krill, which is a zooplankton. There's even a vegetarian one, derived from algae!
Also, the capsules are gelatin ( except the vegetarian one!), so it might be that, although if you're used to taking medicine in capsules, it's unlikely!

Did your optician suggest lutein for your eyes? It's a carotenoid but only lutein and another one are stored in the retina. It promotes the integrity and density of the macular pigment. You can get lutein from health food shops. I get my stuff from a reputable company by post and from a local health shop.

Yes she did! I haven't got to that one yet and got put off a bit by the oil reaction! I usually take all of my medication in powder or tablet forms so this is my first gelatin capsule. They're fascinating to look at, huge transparent things with yellow oil sloshing around in them. Mine say nothing about the type of fish, just that they are fish oil - EPA and DHA. Which means nothing to me...

The EPA and DHA are the important active stuff. Out of interest, what are the quantities of EPA and DHA in each capsule?

You can get it in liquid form too, so does away with the need for the capsule. I got through two bottles, and then despite the lemon flavour added, couldn't face the very fishy taste any more, so went back to capsules.

  • It says Omega 3 Fish Oil 1000mg. Total Omega 300mg. EPA/DHA 260mg

Um, guess what, Zipvit do lutein too!
The fish oils are known as golden eggs in this household, they are rather beautiful in their way.

  • It looks like Zipvit is my friend! They are rather pretty capsules, I confess to playing with one, moving the liquid around before I took it!
