WaSp called the pharmacist! Apparently it is typical of this years seasonal flu and people have been talking to him about it all week. He doesn't want to advise anything stronger than Pepto-bismal because I am already on a lot of medication so see my doctor if it doesn't help. Other than that eat small portions of plain rice and bananas, keep warm, drink lots, have hot baths for the aching limbs, take pain and throat medication and relax. It lasts around 10-14 days (How long?! I'm only on day 5!).
In another words we are stuck with it for the duration. I am going back to colouring postcards...Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

WaS, is everything you're eating acidic? Tomatoes are quite acidic as is fruit so maybe you need to return to nursery foods for a day or two - chicken soup(without cream) is great for colds and might be more easily tolerated. I always take probiotics after any kind of tummy upset so that might help too (alongside anything suggested by your GP).
I am supposed to be cleaning today but I seem to have cystitis. Feeling very sorry for myself. Also waiting for a delivery. Dumbass dog needs a walk but I just know as soon as I take him outside, the courier will show.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Aw, cystitis is miserable. A day on the sofa cuddling dumbass dog is in order. We are waiting for a delivery as well of a hot water bottle cover which will be put into good use by me the moment it comes through the door.
Funnily enough, the pharmacist pointed out that downing litres of fruit juice probably isn't the best thing for my stomach right now. Oops. I shall try chicken soup for my next meal, excellent suggestion.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

As I'm a thrifty scot, my hot water bottle cover is an old pillow case :rotfl: Or a dog but he's disgruntled about the lack of walkies.
Rice is also really good. If you have diawoowoo, drinking the water from cooked rice can make it stop.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Ooooh, I never knew that! I shall try that, too. I was using a towel as a hot water bottle cover but it reached a point where they were all damp so figured I might as well buy a cheap cover. A dumbass dog cuddled up on me would be lovely right now.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

He's getting very restless now so I guess I have to bite the bullet and take him out. I just know that's when the delivery will come.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Seems like we're all feeling a bit rubbish - my IBS has triggered too and it feels like I've eaten a big pot of Copydex. Stopped me sleeping last night *sulk*
Lots of love to you WaS and code - feel better very soon, here's to 2015 being a healthier year than 2014 (with my 3 bouts of tonsillitis) was!

What makes the towels damp? Does the HWB leak?
I've got two HWBs that are ridged all over, which does away with the need for a cover, as the ridges diffuse the heat. I always found that covers reduce the heat output too much for me. Mind you, my hotties tend to be for my feet which are always cold!(I just lurve spiders!)

Sorry to hear you are suffering, too HBS! I really hope next year is a much healthier one for you!
WaSp makes the towels damp, Pyxis! He uses 3 per shower and drapes them over the bath and forgets that they're there. Hence when I want one for my hot water bottle (or for a shower, for that matter) they are all wet!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

I don't use hot water bottles they scare me always afraid they might leak. I have those things you heat in the microwave think they have wheat in them, ds has a pig one.
Was can wasp call the doctors today as it might me an idea to speak to someone today as if you need anything tomorrow or Thursday places might not be open normal hours.0
