    I've been Money Tipped!
Oh dear, I hate to add to the gloom, but this lurker is poorly too, I don't know what is wrong, I've had lots of pain, heartburn, terrible indigestion and feeling soooo tired. My mind is in overdrive, thinking what might be wrong with me, but I am too scared to even Google the symptoms. I have not eaten much the last couple of days and its not quite so painful, but I am still gurgling like a drain ... :(

I don't expect (or want) a diagnosis! Its just nice to be able to unload, there is nobody else.

Don't google symptoms . :). As suggested call the whatever NHs direct is now or try and get a doctors appointment, or if need be an out of hours doctors appt. the NHs direct used to have an online system for advice too, not sure if current system does, but it was a good alternative if a phone call felt too hard.

We've started trying to strip paint from our stairs to day. Noting complicated like balustrades, just the treads.

The air here is a shade of blue. Amazing that paint so chipped and scratched is so resistant to coming off!

When its done we're going to stain the stair case a dark colour and get a runner for them. The question is, what runner?

This is the link that tells you about 111 and when to call it.
(There doesn't seem to be an NHS Direct online service any more.)

I got a lovely runner from Roger Oates, which was discounted as it was an end of roll. That was three years ago and it's still not on the stairs! (It's a JM type of story!:D)

Joan, I've called nhs24 a few times and they've always been lovely. Once when I was in so much pain from my face and hadn't been diagnosed, I could barely speak for crying and the person I spoke to was so nice. If you don't want to call them you can phone your GP and ask for an emergency telephone appointment or callback.

The mascot of Edinburgh is Greyfriars Bobby. He has a statue and everything. Every year during rag week, the medical students decorate it.

Bobby also upsets especially as he was a terrier and my two are jacks (well porky mum was a parsons Lord knows what her dad was lol)

Heaven to porky is a slice of bacon and a cuddle with me, she comes to the loo with me tries to get in the bath with me and waits in the hall from when I have left work till when I get in.

Hachiko was an akita who live in the 20 's at a train station in Japan. When his owner died and he was rehomed he continued to go to the station house and the platform to wait for his human he did this every day for 9 years before he finally died on the platform.
There is a statue in his honour and he is displayed at a museum in Japan.

    Well! Vile calumny! :p :rotfl:

It certainly WILL last for ever if you don't actually put it on the stairs....:rotfl:

Beautiful, beautiful. I'd love an olive one, or a multi stipe one or even a bright yellow one.

Its a very dark hall way, and we haven't finally decided how we'll decorate it yet but will probably 'embrace the dark' rather than fight it. Yellow would glow in a dingy hall, but the gold threads worry me. I think the stripes might fight future decoration, and the olive might get lost.

Olive might me a good neutral though.

    I love those.

Well, I have a stripy one, and a William Morris wallpaper. The stripes pick out the same colours in the wallpaper, but being stripes on a neutral background, don't clash with the wallpaper!
I thought they would, but when I got the samples, I was delighted to find they don't!

Yellow glowing in a dark hallway sounds lovely! Why do the gold threads worry you?

    You can get samples sent!
