I'm sitting here with a massive grin and welling up, I am so glad you managed to experience the childlike delight that you did, WaS, and also so proud that you managed to leave the blanket and get some photos

Hi WaS, so glad your day was as good, if not even better than you hoped for!
Looking forward to seeing the photos.0 -
Oh WaS, it was even better than we could have hoped. I think they must have been real elves!
I am so glad that you made it happen.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
It was even better than I had imagined it to be. They all made such an effort to make it magical and they beyond succeeded. I will never forget it, it has totally made my Christmas. It has further proved to me my belief that most people are very kind and will go the extra mile for others if you are brave enough to ask them if they would. The whole thing made me feel very humble.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Merry christmas to all as I shall be camping in windy isolated national park Torres del Paines in Patagonia, Chile with no wifi for a while!!0 -

Aw, thank you everyone. For once I am little bit proud of myself especially as I managed not stay under the blanket!
Hahahahahaha! WaSp...got through it. He did join in with parts, he had no choice because elves kept saying you, too! He had a fixed grin for most of it, the most amusing moment being when the elf appeared to tell me Santa was ready for me. Cue a panicked stage whisper from WaSp "You aren't really going to see Santa are you?!" Followed by an even more alarmed "I don't have to go in with you, do I?!" The answer was yes to both! I think he secretly enjoyed it despite being a fetching shade of scarlet for most of it. This is partly my fault as I completely played along and did everything the elves asked and then entered Santa's Grotto and exclaimed "Hello Santa! Wow! It's really you!" This seemed to cause WaSp to be very interested in his shoes for some reason, can't think why!
But really, he was lovely and did join in. There was a point when I was doing the Snow White jigsaw where he just stood there and burst out laughing at me! I don't think he could believe it was really happening. He tells me he is scarred for life.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France
