I am so ridiculously excited! I was looking through all of the garden centres around here who had Winter wonderland experiences, all for children and one adult. I felt sadder and sadder because my mother would never allow me to do anything like that. So I thought, I could sit and feel sad or I could try and change that.

I emailed a garden centre that has 7 reindeer, explained how old I am, that I was never allowed to join in with things like that as a child due to my mothers illness and it has always been one of my regrets. I offered to pay extra if they would let me meet the reindeer, and said that it would make Christmas for me. I also said I am mentally ill myself and cannot be in crowds so could it be at a very quiet time? (I explained about the need for a blanket).

The manager wrote back and said he and the elves would be delighted to do that for me. If I arrive 20 minutes after the centre closes on the 22nd it will be empty and he and the elves will walk with me through the Wonderland experience, I can feed the reindeer and at the end I can visit Santa! What's more it is all free of charge!

What an incredibly nice man! I am going to see reindeer and Santa! And there won't be people there! I had a little cry, I can't believe it. This is something for little me that never got the chance and all of the little ones in the inner world. I finally get to do it!

ETA: I just read your post to DH, and he said, "Ah, that's sweet.."

It will be 6.20pm on the 22nd, once the garden centre is empty. That is so sweet of him to allow me to do it when no one is there, if there are only a couple of people I may not need the blanket, but I forewarned him about it anyway.

Your OH took the news better than WaSp, whitewing! WaSp put his head in his hands and has been doing so periodically ever since! For some reason he seems to be a tad embarrassed already...

I, on the other hand can't believe I get to do this! There are 7 reindeer! and a walkway full of decorations and Christmas Tree's! He said it should take about 30 minutes for me to see and do everything, I can't believe he is allowing me to do this. It took years but finally I get to do what I missed as a child!
