Oldestgnome bet he will love that -it really is great fun. As we have laminate floor we do not have to worry if it gets on floor, so we take a big tray add the moon sand and toys and sit and happily play. Its great for rainy days indoors and is very easy to sweep up.

Yes me too. I do hope there are enough buckets and spades.

    I'm in a clique! It's a clique of one! It's a unique clique!
    I love

  • If we don't have enough buckets and spades we can always use play dough too! Yes, I actually have some and I make things sometimes. I am determined to have the childhood that I never had!

I don't know what that post was about Pyxis as I am not allowed to look at it!

Ohh play dough brilliant. Good for you WaS. Have you thought about modelling clay? They you could keep you creations. Quite a few of them air dry.

I cannot wait till little one is old enough for play dough she is only 21 months and at the moment would probably eat it. Instead we use sugarpaste icing which is similar consistency and make shapes and use plastic cutters. As I am doing a cake decorating class we always have lots to hand.

You have very good self restraint WaS :D

Can use anything, biscuit cutters, ramekins etc... I'm in :j

Also salt dough, bake it then paint it :)
  • Ok, you got me thinking, whitewing. I need some goals for the last half of the year so I decided to make a list. They're tiny by other peoples standards but huge to me.

    1. Get to the beach. Day or night, it doesn't matter.
    2. Do not rebook any doctors appointments unless really necessary. I have a habit of panicking near to the time and rebooking only to panic again a few weeks later. If I go the first time it is only one panic!
    3. Do my physio exercises more often, hopefully daily. I do them with my carer but I have ones that I am supposed to do at night, too and I often skip them (because they hurt!).
    4. Look after my hair as we were previously saying.
    5. Make some cards for friends. I always used to make homemade cards but haven't for years. I have everything I need so I really should start doing it again.
    6. Clear out the cupboard of doom in the bedroom. Everything that doesn't have a home lives in there and the door won't shut anymore. That is harder than it sounds due to hoarding tendencies.
    7. Keep writing here!
    8. Somehow get to the optician. I say this every year. My glasses are now 20 years old and make my eyesight worse! Luckily my eyesight isn't that bad but I could still do with a new pair.
    9. Go for a smear test. I really can't put it off any longer.
    10. Be kind to myself (there you go, JM). Or at least stop thinking I am hideous.

I have just under 6 months to manage these so hopefully I won't feel pressured. You can all remind me every now and then that the list exists (please).

I've got my smear test soon.

I am quite excited about your beach day. Maybe a picnic for your anniversary or partner's birthday? Then you could give your partner a home made invitation and a home made anniversary card. You could also get some children's bubble mixture and blow bubbles on the beach (obviously not if it's the middle of Nov).

I am also excited about your cupboard of doom. I think you will have to tell us the story of every item there is in there so we can roar 'stash it!' or 'trash it!

  • That's a lovely idea, whitewing! We could make an occasion of the beach trip! To me that is the equivalent of a 2 week holiday so as well as fearful I am also excited!

Good idea about the cupboard of doom! Before I even start I know that I am going to want to keep everything because it has been here for so long and will feel abandoned, etc so I would appreciate some help.
