What lostinrates says, only a lot better than I could.
And as far as thinking your targets woukd be tiny for lots of people, they're really not. It took me 6 years to pluck up the courage for my last smear after the first recall and it took a friend to shake me and repeatedly tell me not to be a pillock to finally get me there.

I am not so worried about us upsetting WaS or vice versa, because I think we all understand that we are finding our feet here.

I am a bit concerned that if something happened to WaS in real life, that we wouldn't know, eg if she is sectioned again. But we do know that WaS has carers and her partner, so I think we will have to assume that if she isn't posting for a number of days that she will be being taken care of and will come back in days or months when she is able?

Unless anyone else has some ideas?

Love the list WaS but when I read 7 I choose to read it as I will keep writing here FOREVER. As now we have found you I sincerely hope we get to keep you.

I am very excited by your whole list- but I may be able to help you with number 5 (at least I hope i can!) as I am a freelance paper craft designer and design cards and papercraft projects for craft magazines. I am also on a couple of design teams and make samples which are shown on create and craft.

I love the idea of you making OH an invite for the beach trip. I think it will really help you to achieve it. Like the Skype call with your friend where you knew how much it would mean to her so you did it.

What about taking a picnic? Even if you go in the middle of the night or November it would be lots of fun. You could take a flask of something to keep you warm and your favourite foods and a big picnic blanket to sit on or snuggle in if cold. You could find yourself a nice shell to remember the trip by and as a reminder of what you can do.

Yes that worries me if she did not post I would really worry about her. Perhaps she could ask her partner or carer to email someone and that person could just let the thread know? I would be quite happy to do this. I expect WaS would be inundated with volunteers though. WaS may have better ideas or something she is more confortable with or prefer just to return when she is able. I would have suggested asking her partner to post but remember WaS saying he does not use forums. Glad you posted this Whitewing as it has crossed my mind too.

Hope this reads ok WaS worrying about every thing I type today. The fact we have worried about this is another example though of just how much we care.

    Another thought from me...

WaS I know you don't watch tv as a rule but would you be able to watch something like create and craft? Its content is pretty much showing off the products, and craft demonstrations with a bit of banter, and would be another way of enjoying both your card making and getting ideas and learning from some of the demonstrations which are often very good.

Which brings me to another suggestion I know you have mentioned that you miss reading- what about a craft magazine? You often get free cover gifts as well which would add to your stash, the articles themselves are pretty much all centred around making something and the inspiration and anecdotes behind the makes.

Please do disregard these ideas if they are not suitable.

Is it the actual TV set itself that is the problem, or the programmes that you may accidentally watch?

Apart from Willy Wonka is there anything you can watch?

I vaguely remember you saying about your partner watching the grand prix on something that wasn't a TV?

very good points whitewing I had only considered the angle of accidentally watching something upsetting but you are quite right that it could be the TV itself.

This may help WaS and some of our Thread Friends.

ETA: I am wondering why WaS developed schizophrenia and I didn't? Could it be lack of genetic predisposition, or that my childhood was neglectful rather that physically/sexually abusive? I don't know anything about schizophrenia except what WaS has posted, which is incredible really because it's the mental illness that everyone's heard of. In fact the miniscule preconception that I had was hopelessly inaccurate.
