Awww, that must have been wonderful! I never had a stocking as a child but I started making them for WaSp years ago. He insists his has to have an orange and chocolate coins in the bottom! This is the first year that I have asked him to make one for me and he is totally lost and has asked me for a list of things to fill it with. I have refused because that isn't how it works! Pity the poor man...
Aww, how sweet pipkin! I always got Christmas presents for my cats, in fact I used to make them stockings. I could never leave animals out at Christmas.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

I love Christmas and try every year to make it a special one for my girls so that they can look back with happy memories.
It will be a difficult one this year but I will be doing all I can to ensure it's as special as it can be
It is definitely my favourite time of year. There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they'll take you - Beatrix Potter0 -
I love Christmas, too pipkin, it has always felt magical to me. You have a lot of love around you and seeing your girls faces light up will help with the sadness. Hugs.

I've been out at another rehearsal all day, so have only just read the thread properly. Apologies, pipkin - I never welcomed you properly! :hello: I read the thread at such speed yesterday that I think I thought that you and bailey were the same person - how lovely to have TWO new posters!
Anyway, welcome to the thread - and to all you lurkers out there, we hope you are enjoying the thread (if that's the right word. Some of the things we discuss are silly, some are funny and some are quite painful.) - do jump in any time if you would like to take part.
My story of the day is stubbing my toe on the bed-leg this morning. I don't know if it is broken, or just badly bruised, but I'm hobbling! If you are all very lucky I might post a photo tomorrow! :rotfl:

Ouch, JM! That is not a good start to the day! Do take care of your toe, I did that years ago and it resulted in a permanent ingrowing toenail, it must have damaged the nail base. Hopefully you won't have that and hopefully it isn't broken! You need to put your foot up and spend some time being waited on!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

We've got two Jack Russells. Dylan, the boy dog, is 5 and is a long-legged Jack Russell. He spends his days going for walks or playing with balls and is constantly on the go. I am his favourite person in the whole world.
Mollie, the girl dog, is a short-legged Jack Russell. She is 8 now. Sadly, she went blind last year and has no eyes. She believes she is in charge of the household, terrorises Dylan, forever steals his ball, and tries to eat his dinner. She loves standing under running water and her little cuddly rabbit.
If Mollie is naughty and gets told off, she will then ignore you until you end up apologising to her!
Dylan has a vomit phobia, which is quite funny at the moment because I have been quite nauseous so he keeps running away from me but coming back to check I am ok :rotfl:
Mollie doesn't really enjoy going for walks anymore as the traffic noise scares her but, if I go out with my girls, to walk them, then she will hop up on my lap, otherwise, when the girls try taking her, she parks her bum on the floor and refuses to budgeThere is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. Aw, how adorable, pipkin! I have never heard of a dog with vomit phobia before, poor Dylan! Sorry to hear that you have been nauseous, too, I hope it passes quickly.
Mollie sounds like she is coping fine without her eyesight, I always think it is wonderful how well animals adapt. My teacher friend had a cat who badly broke her front leg and it had to be amputated. It never bothered her at all and she continued to terrorise the other cats and kept them in their place. Animals never cease to surprise me with their resilience.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

I think furr-apy can help with vomit phobia in dogs!:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0
