I nearly wrecked my washing machine by putting my door mat in it. Was taking clumps of brushy stuff out of it for ages. (Had done it before without hassles).

I have washing on the line. On Halloween!

Got the doors open here too.

  • Be careful if washing heavy things like door mats, as you can ruin your machine. DH used to have his own business as a domestic appliance engineer, and knows these things! If you MUST wash it, don't spin it.....

Aw, poor beau, MU, I am sure you will be a comfort to him.

I am so sorry to hear about your friends son, oyster. The problem with schizophrenia is it is a biochemical condition. Therapy and support can help an awful lot but medication is essential because sadly talking doesn't fix physical chemicals. There are lots of different medications for it, if he is feeling a little out of it on his current ones would he consider trying a different one?

Hope the washing machine has survived, whitewing! The use of psychedelics in treating conditions is interesting indeed. I could say an awful lot about that from personal experience but I had better not because it might get the thread reported. Suffice to say some were once used to treat mental health conditions, particularly schizophrenia and I completely understand why.

I am staring at bowls of pumpkin and squash. Literally bowls...we are making the pumpkin pie soon. I am going to attempt to watch a horror film later which should be interesting, I also have various sweeties in the shape of skulls and bones. Did I mention that I celebrate everything?

Pie update- everything is on hold. The back just fell off WaSp's chair so there are repairs going on in the kitchen...

  • Aw, that's lovely MU! I hope they are very happy and I bet you will make a wonderful auntie!

The carved pumpkins with candles in look amazing! We have all of the lights out and those and candles around the room! WaSp is going to use the money MIL gave him for a pizza and then we have lots of sweeties! The pie may wait until tomorrow due to chair repairs but that is fine as I am randomly eating a cup of pumpkin anyway. Now please let me be able to watch a horror film, I haven't tried this for years.

Which film(s) are you planning on watching? Can give you some suggestions but don't want any to be penguiny.

I quite liked the Insidious films :) They were more supernatural and a bit jumpy. I can't do anything gory though

I quite fancy a horror film myself tonight!

  • I am watching Mirrors with Kiefer Sutherland which WaSp assures me is very good and not penguiny at all. Just spooky! We have the Insidious films! I wonder if I might manage one of those, too?

Ooh Mirrors, yeah thats not too bad :)

I will warn you there is a really jumpy bit in Insidious :p (i screamed the first time i saw it, in my defence i was watching it alone in candlelight!) :)

Ooh also found this and thought of you http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/collection/pumpkin?cm_mmc=ExactTarget-_-email-_-Good-food-newsletter-413_2014_10_29-_-email&utm_medium=Email&utm_source=ExactTarget&utm_campaign=Good-food-newsletter-413_2014_10_29

  • Sorry for my silence for a long while - it can be difficult to sneak away from WaS while she isn't looking. :)

I'm rather shocked by the accusation that I might leave puddles. Well, actually, I DO leave puddles, but they are so deliciously fragrant .... the next time you say 'whatever is that wonderful smell' it probably means that I've been for a quick visit :D

I had a wonderful evening - I snuck out in my ghost costume (the one WaS doesn't know about) and of course enchanted everyone who saw me. (Sorry, but I have to be honest, and pugs are not known for their modesty.) The result was lots and lots of candy, and I admit I do have a slight tummy ache this morning. I am trusting that WaS will give me a nice tummy rub later. :A I like living here!

Hahahahaha! Good evening Sir P! Tummy rubs at the ready and thank you for letting me cuddle you while I watched a scary film! I do love your posts, they make me grin!

Yesterday went well! I managed to watch all of The Conjuring without being triggered. It was so far into fantasy that there was nothing real that I could latch onto so no relating to anyone and thinking that they are real! I thoroughly enjoyed it! One film was enough but I am so glad I got to watch one. Now, to deal with the pumpkin mountain...
