That's brilliant Pyxis
I have visions of a ginger cat running around pouncing on Saris now, a great visual image making me chuckle, followed closely by a green Kiwi and Gitdog's guide to lapsitting...!/ warm handshakes to regulars and lurkers alike.
MU, glad to hear the beau is understanding.
Whitewing your stories of DD are very sweet!
LiR hope you feel better soon.
WaS, how lovely of WaSp to bring you coffee. I enjoyed reading about your Grandad. I can appreciate how difficult it is for a child to understand why an adult would be crying.
Elsien sounds like you have had a very busy weekend, maybe you need one of those aromatherapy massages to recover?
I have spent some time this afternoon reading a thread on mumsnet that was linked from another thread on this board which has had me streaming with tears, there are some very lovely people in this world as well as some really crappy ones. I won't say anymore as it may be a penguin for some.0 -

Haha! Coincidence!
You know we've mentioned 'Masquerade' a couple of times? (And I was thinking what a good marketing ploy that was, to get a best-seller!)
Well, I've just heard that there's a new hunt book just out! 'Endgame', where the search is to find a key, somewhere in the world!
I thought it was strange they'd left it 30+ years to bring out something else. Though this one is American, and world-wide, so the 'atmosphere' isn't the same!
Has anyone seen it?(I just lurve spiders!)

Linda Bellingham, RIP (not your fault, WaS). A very brave lady indeed, just like you, WaS.
Emd penguin:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Yes.:( she was an excellent actress, and by all accounts a lovely person.
But remember, she was in her husband's arms and at home. What more could one ask for? :A(I just lurve spiders!)

Linda Bellingham played 'the perfect Mum' so many times. A shame she was so young but as said in her husbands arms is a lovely way to go.
I didn't know either of my grandfathers as they both died but I have very fond memories of both my Grandmothers. My sons all have lovely relationships with my parents, bearing in mind my mother has serious anxiety and OCD and they accept and understand I am so pleased and proud of them. My Dad has loved passing on his DIY skills and helping my eldest set up home over the last few years.
Full-of-Beans-Dog keeps throwing upI think she may have scavenged something disgusting while we were out. I am hoping her tummy will settle without vet attention, will keep an eye on her. Meanwhile I have a growing pile of throws and cushion covers waiting for the washing machine to finish ...yuck !
Secret Rooster is keeping noise to acceptable levels so farneighbours on one side have noticed but don't mind, reminds them of home (in foreign parts!) and think situation will be similar for other side neighbours who spend every winter 'at home' in a nice warm country and 'come home' here when it gets too hot over there
