Speaking of age setting in, my faculties are definitely on the wane. I made a curry in the slow cooker this afternoon to have a hot meal ready for after training, failed to notice the absence of any aromas before I went out, and came home to find out I hadn't actually turned it on. Another reason for filling up on maltesers instead.

Lir, I've never managed to wear him out. Because he can't go off-lead and he gets so over-excited in new places or when we've been out too long, we're limited on how much exercise he can safely get without it getting too silly for me to manage him. I have to find the right balance of occupying indoors and letting off steam outdoors. I have managed to find somewhere with a secure field which I can rent by the half hour, so I'm going to try that out as soon as I can.
The trainer said today that with another owner he may have been PTS by now. Which is ridiculous because under all the bad behaviour he is actually the friendliest dog I've ever owned. No malice in him at all, just no impulse control and very strong teeth.

Sorry if I'm boring everyone, but I felt so downcast earlier I needed to let it out a bit. I suppose there's an element of Gitdog getting lumbered with all the other feelings I've got going on - gives them a sort of focus. He's still being a !!!!, though.

You know, I bet that will help a lot. Even my easily tired out ones are noticeably better with a good regular wear out . I cannot imagine kiwi or dog dog without off lead runs.

I think you are doing amazingly with him and no off lead exercise at all until now. He might be worse AFTER the first couple of times, over excite himself.. Hoping to do it again straight away.

Your tirelessness with him is just wonderful. I do think he's lovely, I can see why. ;).

    Edit, not boring.

I notice lots of people are apologising for themselves ATM? Why? There is no need here, right?

Thank you to everyone who asked- my appointment went well -they even did my smear at the same time which was very very kind as due to my ptsd medical appointments really stress me out and make me very very anxious.

No further surgery as things are as good as they are going to be - further surgery could actually make things worse. :(

Feeling very very anxious, and low. I dont mind not having more surgery as already had two surgeries- but whatever was said i would feel this way if that makes sense. Have worked myself up into a right panic and not sleeping properly has not helped.

Huge hugs to all that need them.

Very well done on having your smear!

That's good news too about not having more surgery. I hope you are getting lots of cuddles tonight.

Whinge time - letting it out all in one go.
Which I'm whiting out so that anyone who doesn't want to be on a downer can ignore it. And there may be a penguin in there about bereavement. Once it's out of the way then I can try to think of some positives. Then I'll probably delete everything.

I don't want to play any more. :(

Yes, I would follow it through but, of course, not expecting there to be a need to do it!

How did you get on today, haybel?

Hey Whitewing- hope my original message read ok- i meant knowing you as i do from this thread i knew this is something you would do- and was very touched as it was a lovely reassuring and kind gesture for you to make. I do hope my message sounded as i meant it too- which was meant as a compliment.

    elsien,

Have a good wallow in sorrow tonight, and then I hope things will look brighter in the morning.

Was, still want kiwi? He's in the dog house again to night, so he's very close to going in a big parcel in the post to you for a cuddling holiday.
He went walkabout and I'd just called the dog warden ( the shame of it) when he turned up looking pleased with him self.

Sorry Lir, Gitdog's top of the list. In fact this week he's lucky he's still got a roof over his head. Or indeed still got his head. Trainers are baffled and the scratch and teethmarks on my arms are not a good look. :(
Just working my way through the second box of maltesers to cheer myself up while himself snores away without a care in the world.

Yes, haybel, I took it as a most lovely compliment.

(I meant with my comment to your post that I felt fairly certain that WaS was worrying about something that was unlikely to happen ie benefit cards, particularly regarding internet access).
