Here is the suggested THREAD ETIQUETTE. By following this etiquette, all posters, whether new or existing, will feel safe, unpressured and respected..

ANYONE could post PENGUIN if they felt there was a danger that suggestions were being enforced too much.


- If you think something might be a PENGUIN, please post something like the green bit which follows.

"I would like to discuss something to do with [insert subject here], but I am concerned that this might be a trigger for some people. Is everyone OK if I post about that?"

Then LEAVE IT for at least an hour to allow people to respond. Then, when you post, repost the word PENGUIN above the discussion. Then post the penguiny bit in white! And the phrase END OF PENGUIN when you have finished.

It will look like this. You will be able to see the white text if you highlight it or if you quote it (so please don't quote a penguin!)

It should be pointed out that if anyone is feeling very distressed or close to a crisis, they do not have to worry about what they are posting, or whether it is a penguin for someone else or not. In a crisis situation, just post! We wouldn't want anyone to feel that they couldn't ask for help in case it's a penguin! The penguin thing only applies to a general discussion situation.

- More suggestions please.............We stress that we are suggesting that we AGREE some Thread Etiquette to HELP people who might feel anxious about posting, we are not trying to IMPOSE rules, just relating this to facilitating groups, so that people feel safe and able to participate as fully as they can.

Can I just say thank you to you all for your support today. I know my story isn't nearly as bad as some others in here, but just being able to air it has helped me to understand why I react in certain ways to things. For example, I've never been able to ask for what I want and today I've realised that its because any requests I had for support were buried under everyone else's needs and because admitting a weakness in my family is akin to revealing a soft spot that will be attacked mercilessly. I sometimes do this to others without realising because its so ingrained. When I realise I've been cruel, I feel terrible.

Even as I write this, one of the voices in my head is telling me that it's stupid and you all hate me. Its saying you think I'm spoiled and stupid and you want me to go away.

And in my codemonkey capacity here's how to handle penguins on androids. If you want to read, press and hold to bring up the highlighter and drag the end tab to the end of the penguin.

To write a penguin and still see the text put in the tags yourself rather than using the formatting. So write in () at the start of your penguin then at the end put ([\color]). Remove the ( ) though - those are just there so you can see.

Chocolate on prescription is of little use to me. Can i have plants or animals instead please. Or maybe jewellery or cosmetics? Really, anything but chocolate?

I think you're super code monkey. And I love the sound of your dog. And I get the weakness thing too. Letting go of it is amazing.....really hard, and a continuing battle, but amazing, did it feel good today?

There was a dog's trust rehoming van in the supermarket car park today. I went over for a look but they'd taken the dog away for a walk. Probably for the best. As much as I'd love a playmate for dumbass dog, the dog walking bills would cripple me.

Well this what I do, so if you use a tablet, it may be similar up to a certain point when I know it's different.

• Open Photobucket
• Click on "my albums" at bottom of page
• At the top of the page click on the 'up' arrow.
• Click on photo library
• Click on whatever file your photo is in.
• Click on each photo to be uploaded to Photobucket. They will appear in the queue on the left. When they are all uploaded and the queue box is empty, click anywhere.
• Wait a second while your photos load onto the screen.
• Click on the photo to be posted. The photo will appear on its own, very large, on the screen. Fear not, it will not be posted that large!

Then click on the 'link' symbol, the little chain-link symbol. This will bring up a box of options.
This is now where it will be different from me.You need to click on one of the posting options, but I don't know which. The iPad uses either of the last two, but I don't know what other tablets or PCs use. You may have to experiment.

Whatever you click on will make the photo come up on the Post Reply box as an address. If you then do the 'Preview Post' you will see in the preview if the photo has been posted correctly!
