It is never my intention to offend anyone or make anyone feel unwanted and if I have done so it is purely an oversight on my part. If this doesn't apply and makes no sense at all (quite possible) then ignore this post. I will reply to everyone soon, I am not quite up to it right now. I am having a paranoid and guilty moment, don't mind me..
I have never felt more welcome anywhere. You have been incredibly kind and thoughtful with endless compassion. Big hugs or a friendly handshake (do love this saying- hope you don't mind me keep borrowing it).

I am working at the moment, but I can't settle into anything. DH said on the way in that it is probably to do with changing my medication. I did sleep well. It feels like the day is stretching out forever.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Yes, I agree that this is about the loveliest thread on the whole MSE board. I have a goldfish memory so am not anything like as good as WaS at remembering everyone, although I do read every post.
One of the reasons I like working in mental health is that most people with MH problems are some of the loveliest people you will ever meet. It feels to me as if they have a very special empathy with others (that can be a problem as they end up suffering too much. They beat themselves up imagining that they may have hurt others, and they are much nicer to other people than they are to themselves, which is why I keep telling WaS to be kind to herself - that goes for all of us, especially women, who are socialised to put others first - which can be unhealthy.)
Gosh, that was a messy sentence!
DiBuzz, have you tried relaxation? I ask because some forms of meditation give a rest which is deeper than sleep, even though you are still awake. If you are too 'twitchy' to lie and do a traditional relaxation, there are ways round it. You can sit and think of your eyelashes relaxing, your hair relaxing, your toenails relaxing - any part of you which is amenable to being talked to! And, related to the previous paragraph, remember to tell your toenails/eyelashes/knees how much you love and appreciate them while they are nice and relaxed, too, and send them peaceful, cuddly thoughts. xxx

I don't work in mental health, and have struggled only recently , short period and very much less harshly than some one like WaS but I feel that with so many people at risk of suffering a form of mental health, like depression, surely the point is not that those suffering problems are lovelier/ less lovely whatever, but JUST like every one else because they ARE every one else under different circumstance of health?
With mental health issues in family I have to say the loveliest thing doesn't resonate too closely. While people outside might have said it, those of us closer saw different. Like the little girl with a little curl, the mood of the person who suffered made all of us suffer. I know though they have a huge social net work who never see the rough side and would agree with the lovely thing. I'd say 'human'. Maybe 'more' so.
But this is one of the loveliest threads.Seeing WaS change names is brilliant. Her patience in description is incredible, and the caring people are showing each other is delightful. I wish more were like this!

Yes, you're right, LiR, it IS about humanity and showing and expressing that humanity, I didn't express it very well.
And I meant to say - I play, not sing. Oboe and viola. This was an oboe weekend - Bach is every oboist's dream (although he never DID learn that we need to breathe!)Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
Good Evening! I shall make individual replies shortly, I have only just crawled out of bed after another sleep of nightmares. These aren't bad as such, it is quite normal for me. It just means that I sleep for longer because the medication won't allow me to wake up until I have slept enough and it has worn off.
I am very shaky today. This happens when I don't see anyone for a day, I have too much time to think which invariably ends up with me agreeing with the voices that I am utterly useless and cruel to everyone, hence my post last night. Thank you everyone for the lovely words, I don't know what I would do without you all now. I appreciate everyone so much.

You would survive, because you are a born survivor! I'm hoping that we can help you expand your current lifestyle.
I thought of you yesterday while I was in the park (again) with my daughter. I would have posted from there but MSE is not that good on my mobile.

Our voices ( or written words) say different. So.....at least there is debate on the subject, even if you have known them longer, you can see not all agree with them.0 -
You could talk to him about what the voices are saying (if he'll tell you) and ask him what he would need to prove to him that the things they are saying aren't true. Be totally matter of fact about it. If he thinks he killed someone, for example, say that someone would have reported it by now if it were true. I assume he's never actually met Rolf Harris? So he can't actually be responsible for anything that Rolf did.
You could try talking together to the voices and asking them why they want Harry to feel bad. You could look up the Hearing Voices Network together and see if you could join a local group, or maybe you could join the forum there together to help support him?
(Random suggestions, I'm just hoping that some of them might spark something off, really!) xxxEx board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0
