Aw, thank you, dibuzz. I would be grateful if things could stop happening now! I need to have a break before November which is my Rheumatologist's appointment, my Psychiatrists appointment, my eye doctor appointment and my Endocrinologists appointment! I am thinking I am going to have to rebook at least one because I can't see my myself managing that. I can't rebook for my eyes because I already did when I had a cold and I am only allowed to do that once, the Rheumatologist wouldn't be a good idea to rebook now so it will be one of the other two. I could attempt it but considering I already feel sick at the thought, maybe not.
Oh, one slightly embarrassing point. a nurse took a blood test and said "Do you still self-harm? Do you have suicidal thoughts?" after looking at my arm. I don't mind them enquiring as such but I was there for my neck. She spent 5 minutes talking to me about my mental health which was sweet and thorough but I kind of could have done without it as my only problem was physical and there were only curtains separating me from a very full department of eavesdropping people! Somehow this got onto environmental factors and mental health and she told me that she had adopted a Romanian orphan with behavioural problems and flew him over here. So I liked her after that even if I wasn't quite sure what this had to do with stabbing neck pain. I actually find this happens a lot when I have been to A&E with anything physical, medical staff tend to be far more fascinated by my mental health. I shall take it as I am just that interesting!

I am impressed WaS that you are getting out and about so much these days, even if it isn't quite how you'd planned to venture out into the wide world again.
Next step is a crocheted blanket so you can see but not be seen.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
The easy answer is don't turn your neck
It's hard facing questions like that, a reply of "mind your own business" often offendssounds like she was just trying to be nice though.
I think postponing one of your appointments would be a good idea.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Hahahahaha! I shall keep my neck firmly looking ahead at the laptop! This is my excuse for not moving all day.
Aww, thank you, whitewing, at least I am leaving the house? clutching at straws here. A crocheted blanket is actually a really good idea! Why have I never thought of that?
I am used to their reaction really, as I said it happens a lot at A&E, unfortunately. They tend to do the initial assessment, look up my medical records and then everything becomes about mental health. It is awkward especially with other patients only a curtain away but I appreciate that they are trying to do the best for me. They did bring me tea and biscuits and an extra blanket so that I could really snuggle down and hide which was kind and popped me directly in front of the nurses station so that they could occasionally call over to check I was ok. A tiny evil part of me wanted to reply "I'm fine, not turning into a knife-wielding maniac quite yet!".
They also moved several other patients who had xrays back to the waiting room to wait for their results but let me stay in bed hidden by curtains which again, was lovely of them. In fact, they didn't bat an eyelid when I quietly drew the curtains all the way around the bed leaving a tiny gap so that they could see me from the nurses station. They try to do their best to make me as comfortable as they can.
I think that I will rebook the Psychiatrist as I haven't seen my Endocrinologist for a while. Four in a month is pushing it and besides it's my birthday in November and I am not being psychotic on my birthday! No to Stephen King as he drones on too much for my liking, being manic I need action!
Yes to Dr Who, especially when it was David Tennant, loved Billie Piper in it too SDW.
Soaps, just Enders, ain't watched the rest for years.
Hi allSoz for being a few days behind (what's new) but laptop was ill yesterday
The nurse may have though that you'd tried to fling yourself down the stairs WaS, hence the neck injury :-/

Hello, Duke! I actually did wonder that? I went to A&E once with a bad allergic (couldn't breathe, rash, being sick, swollen fingers, the usual) reaction to Ibuprofen and I was asked constantly how many did I take? (two!) and whether I was feeling depressed. I do think that they sometimes see my notes and panic. I spend an awful lot of my times in A&E trying to look very sane, calm and together to try to counteract it.
They don't have to worry anyway, flinging myself downstairs or out of the window involves leaving my flat! Absolutely no chance of suicide that way!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

(Is there a symbol for a glottal stop? Will google and see.
Yes there is, it's like a question mark without the dot underneath, but very often an apostrophe is used, as I did above, so I leave it like that!(I just lurve spiders!)
