They are so pretty! I love them all! Another thing I have always wanted is a patchwork quilt, I am now thinking a flower fairy patchwork! I bet that would look amazing!
A different fairy in every patch!

I love the blue one and the purply ones.

    I love

  • That sounds like you had a lovely day haybel, the beach is my favourite place! I am so glad that little one enjoyed it. Are her and her doggie friend feeling better now?

Ooo yes, I was wondering how they were, as well! And was it warm enough for the beach, where you are?

Lol Yes it was quite nice weather really- we are only 35-40 minutes from Hunstanton - so really ought to go more often.

Little one and Max are both feeling much better thank you- they are both back to mischief! We went on a lovely family walk to the big park in town yesterday and they were both shattered.

Its quite funny because little one loves to be out with 'her' doggy and is quite proud of him- and Max likes to know where she is at all times and if in front will keep turning round to check. Very very sweet. He is quite convinced that she is 'his' baby. So much so that he hates to go for a walk if she is not going and will quite often refuse like he did tonight when poor OH wanted to go... and Max was like er no- I am not going I want to stay here with my baby. But if i had fetched her shoes he would have been gone like a shot... Little tinker.

Right now he is snuggled into/all over OH - although 23kg he does not realise he is not a lapdog- in fact I am not convinced that he thinks he is a dog lol. I think he thinks he is a baby. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

  • I despair! What on earth do I put to reassure people that marriage and civil partnership is going to be treated as a protected characteristic - in an employment project? Surely no-one discriminates against married people any more? And if they don't, why should they care if the spouse is the same sex or the opposite sex?

I'm getting tired, and beginning to write what I think, instead of what they want to hear. Probably time to give up and come back to it tomorrow - but I am sooo terrified, cos if it's not all in by 5pm tomorrow, I may as well not have bothered!

Aww, so glad that they are feeling better haybel. Max clearly adores your little one, they sound like they have a lovely relationship! Max really makes me want a dog, I would love to have one snuggled on my lap. I really miss that from my cats.

Give it a break for tonight, JM. You will get it done by 5pm but concentrating on things when you are tired is never very easy. I find the whole same sex marriage questioning very frustrating. As long as two consenting people love each other I don't have a problem with anyone being together. Mind you, I am bisexual so I wouldn't have really, I could have easily loved a Ms WaSp rather than a Mr WaSp...

I am having a very annoying psychotic problem right now of my words coming out wrong. I think of the word in my head and type it and then read it back and find my fingers have typed a completely unrelated word not even connected to the sentence. I sent my ESA form in covered in words like that which I didn't realise until I had read back my copy, at one point I had typed kettle into reasons why I didn't go out. This is likely why they didn't even bother with an assessment interview...

Ooooh, yes! I really must have garden gnome, too. I have waited for so long for one of those. Perhaps I can do one for birthday and one for Christmas and save him twice. Every year I have to make a Christmas list like a child or he gets into a panic, he then passes it onto MIL, too. I always think I am really easy to buy for, anything fantasy, anything cute and fluffy, WaSp would completely disagree!

He isn't as bad as BIL, however who has been trying to buy me a cushion for 3 years on behalf of MIL. First he couldn't find a cushion shop, then he didn't know what size, then he didn't know what pattern or material. It has become a standing joke between WaSp and I every Christmas. We are wondering if he can get to 5 years without finding one. I know it sounds slightly mean but really you have to know BIL to realise how typical this is. WaSp is considering taking him to a supermarket this year and standing him in front of cushions. Sadly, the reality is that everytime MIL gives him money for a cushion he spends it on alcohol and then has nothing left to buy one with.

Big hugs JM- take a break for now - coming at it fresh in the morning might make all the difference.

Your post reminded me of when my Grandad was alive and he showed me a family notification in a very very old newspaper. I was fascinated by the job pages- one of the adverts wanted a MARRIED FARMHAND. I was most bemused at the time but my Grandad assured me that adverts like this were very common when he was young- of course today it is very different. My Grandad said it was because a married farmhand would be considered more reliable as they would have a wife and possibly a family to support- a single man therefore could potential have found gaining employment much harder. Funny how things which were common place years ago would be breaking the law today. Thank you for reminding me of this with my Grandad it was a lovely chat we had.

Even back when my dad was working haybel one of the interview questions for his company used to be are you married? It was quietly noted that they believed married men to be more settled and less likely to leave or not work hard as they had a family to support. Back then the same question didn't apply to women as they would never have expected a woman to work in the building section and saw their jobs as being less hard work. The offices upstairs however were full of women other than the bosses who were all men. How times have changed...

  • Given up for the night, sent email to the partners and hopefully I will be able to finish the discrimination question (and the scary outcomes!) tomorrow. If anyone can think of any outcomes an employment project for people with MH problems should have (apart from employment! - and I've got self esteem but no way to measure it) then do say!

Off to bed in a moment. Night all xxx

PS My sister's husband was made redundant partly based on the fact that she has a very well paid job. So discrimination is alive and kicking, even if applied in non-traditional ways!
