For some reason I thought Guardians of the Galaxy was an animated film. What am I getting mixed up with?

Haybel - nagging reminder duly put in diary for Thurs to chase you up with time to spare!
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • OMG what a clever idea to wear a sock! I was wondering what to do - I didn't want to put a plaster over my really sore little toe, but know that I can wake up when the duvet lands on it. A sock is a perfect solution (and a good use of one of my unmatched socks!) Thank you! (I won't use moisturiser this time though as Pinkie can't bear to be touched with anything lol)

Do go for the job, MU. You're no worse off if you apply and don't get it than if you don't apply, and (even if you don't get it) you might learn some really useful stuff in the process :)
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).

Oh lovely glad the suggestion helped. Hope your poor feet feel much better soon.

I went to see guardians of the galaxy, it was actually really good :)

I should try and tidy more often, it's the first thing that goes to pot when my mood gets bad, lol there's something there about having a messy mind thus a messy room.

Well done on submitting your cv and for hearing back! Obviously you are doing something right if try wanted to talk to you! I've seen a job I want to apply for but I'm a bit scared of just going for it and applying

Strongly agree, tidying, and cleaning, when you can cope with it, results in something that soothes soul and mind,

If you are down a nagging chore or somewhere that makes you feel grim doesn't help.

DH wants to see that film.

Re moisturiser for blistered feet....never! Softer skin blusters more easily! :(

Also.....I am STILL awake. But I am going to go to sleep now.

Its incredible. Awake from 6am till almost two thirtyam?....what happened there? :rotfl:

I am awake at the moment (having gone to bed relatively early). I've done a few quiet household chores so reading MU's post about messy room/messy mind has rung true.

I have a cup of calming herbal tea and am enjoying the peace of mind.

I think you should apply for the job too, MU.

My DH is great with curries and chinese and thai food, haybel. We have a Hairy Bikers cookbook too but I didn't know they had a curry one. I shall put it on his christmas list.

My little aches and pains are nothing serious. I got a lift into work yesterday, which saved my bus fare but meant I was in early. So I took myself off for a walk (hobble), which I really enjoyed.

When DH had finished his shift, he brought DD in and let me skive off for a couple of hours to take her to the park. She is so sweet. She suddenly managed to climb on the seesawy thing all by herself. I said that I hadn't known she could get on by herself and she said that she was just looking at it and thinking, I can do that!

She is a terror for not wanting to wear shoes and socks (they have a lot of sand around the slides etc), or jumpers and will take them off as soon as she can. There was a big puff of wind, and she said, Brr, I'm cold so I said put your jumper on. She grinned up at me and said, I only said that to make you laugh! She is starting to be a very quick thinker.

Her life lesson in the past two days has been to learn to share her toys with strangers. She's obviously inherited my hoarderish tendencies. She loves playing with her new friends' toys but we have had a few tears when they wanted to play with hers. She gets upset but it is nothing that can't be cured by a cuddle.

dibuzz, good luck with the GP. I can't remember if it's today or later in the week.

    * Penguin moment * This may be too much for anyone close to a schizophrenic/psychotic person to cope with, so please do skip this post and the link if things are raw for you. If anyone wants it removed, please request mods to delete it. I have included it as it is a stimulus for changing a system.

Again, you do not have to read this.

This is a very long and interesting article about an untreated paranoid schizophrenic in America, who very sadly killed his much-loved mother. The article is about his rehabilitation and also the difficulties of trying to obtain treatment for an adult that his family know is potentially dangerous, but who has no insight into his psychosis/illness.

Sorry for bombarding you with posts today, but this is a gentle article that should interest a lot of you.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2728381/How-child-s-drawings-four-clue-cleverness-Young-depict-human-form-artworks-likely-brighter-teenage-years.html

It did make me wonder if a good therapy group for people who find other people difficult (for a variety of reasons, eg being looked at) would be drawing human forms. I know art therapy is used but I don't recall any art therapy focused specifically on drawing people. This could be with a view to building up positive observational traits rather than artistic ability. (I haven't ever done art therapy, so I only know what I imagine they do in it).

A friend of mine is involved in a type of art therapy, for people with dementia. Not very comparable really.

Still interesting though LIR. What do they do?

(There is a new group near us that has requested donations of old-fashioned equipment eg old dial phones etc for helping prompt memories amongst Alzheimers sufferers. I'm not sure if dementia and Alzheimers are the same or not).
