Not up as such, just woke up! Although my 'alarm' has now just gone! I like to wake early. Trouble is, this time I had a late night, and then I fell asleep over the iPad, and my bedside light woke me up! So I might just have a little snooze again.
Morning, 7DW!(I just lurve spiders!)

Hello SDW! Welcome to the nightwatch. I hope you are awake because you want to be and not for any bad reasons.
Have another snooze, Pyxis. I haven't even gone to bed yet. My brain seems to be under the impression that if I sleep at the first glimpse of sunrise that nothing bad will happen which obviously makes no sense, but what's new?Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Morning WaS and Pyxis! I am awake because my body clock wakes me at this time, nothing bad
Thanks for asking .
Just to say, I mentioned a few days ago about my husband's intrusive thoughts. He has been able to be a bit pro-active towards this. He is not watching the news at the moment. The situation in the Middle East stays with him and haunts him. I suggested not watching the news, there is nothing he can do about the Middle East situation and therefore why get something in his head which deprives him of peace? Also when his mother's voice comes into his head with her mocking and criticism, he is telling her to get lost (only less politely). (His mother was a tortured soul herself, but nevertheless managed to do a lot of damage along the way).
So.....maybe these self-help things WILL help. We shall see.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Aw, good to hear SDW. I do like this time of day, so much so that it is only time that I feel relaxed enough to sleep. But I shall watch the sun come up for a little longer first.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

That's wonderful, SDW! I do exactly the same with my intrusive thoughts. I tell mine to get out of my head and that I don't have time for them and it often works. I agree completely with avoiding triggering news. It is different if he could do something about it or it affects him directly but if it is something that will carry on at a distance regardless there is no point in him putting himself through it. It sounds like things are on the right track!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Well, I've had my snooze! And I expect you've finally gone to sleep, WaS! You're turning into an owl! Perhaps that last pic I posted was prophetic!
If you're about, xXMessedUpXx, how are you today? Are you going to work?
I hope you've managed to get some good sleep, steady and continuous, rather than fitful. :A
Just heard on another thread that triplet pandas have been born in China, and I found this pic:-
The one on the left is doing press-ups, methinks! Obviously the individual of the pack, the one-off! He/she would do all right on this thread, then!
He/she's already got the smile, now if he/she could just raise a paw a little, just a little, it would be a wave and smile!(I just lurve spiders!)

Hello WaS Simpson - oh, you're not yellow yet, lol. You do make me chuckle. I'm looking forward to hearing about your Bioethics course.
Hope you got some sleep MessedUp and haybel family.
Hope you are still lurking, dibuzz, and are okay.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Poignant quote from Robin Williams' daughter, Zelda
"I'll never, ever understand how he could be loved so deeply and not find it in his heart to stay."
This is one of the reasons that your thread is so important, WaS. That people begin to understand, but also that people have got some great ideas that can make daily life better.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Hahahahaha that made me laugh, whitewing! Nope, still not yellow although the pain has gone again! I have no pain in it my liver, it must mean that I am dying!
What a lovely quote. I do hope that as well as us being all supported that this thread serves to raise awareness about living with various mental health conditions. Even if one person reads it and learns something it is worthwhile, be that as someone interested in mental illness or as someone looking for new ideas to try. I am so glad that thread turned out the way it is, I figure this must be a little bit like what having a family is like.
As for me not yellow, not dead, no pain at all in my side. So why does a little shred of doubt keep saying that I am suddenly going to collapse at any given moment? Having said that it is much better than it was and the fixation is far weaker. I can't believe all of that only happened a week ago, it seems far,far longer. Already the memories are starting to fade now the psychosis has almost gone, soon it will feel like a dream. A psychiatrist said to me to think of psychosis as a waking nightmare and it is like that for me, terrifying at the time and shortly afterwards I forget most of it.
One thing that does bother me about episodes is that for me they always fade but they don't for others. In a few weeks I don't think of them at all and when I do everything is foggy and distant. For people like my partner this doesn't happen. He has to remember clearly what he witnessed no matter how unpleasant it was and I am very sorry for that.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France
