Sounds like she is a sensible cookie and has done what she needs to.0 -
WaS,
Just seen this on another thread. If you did want to do some knitting, you could support these people (penguin warning as some of it is sad).

Good grief! And far worse expletives!
What on earth goes through these people's brains, that they have to do such despicable things? Words fail me.(I just lurve spiders!)

The police came and arrested the neighbour upstairs. He was on parole as it was. Now I am shaking like a leaf because my partner wasn't here and they rang my doorbell. I saw the car so I knew I would have to be brave and answer. I feel absolutely sick with anxiety going down to the door.
The policeman was lovely. I looked at the floor all the way through it and said sorry if I seem a bit odd, I have mental health problems. He bent over backwards apologising, held my flat door open for me and checked I was ok and told me that it was nothing to worry about.

WaS, you did just fine.
You did the right thing, you went down and opened the door to the policeman.
You explained that you had MH problems, which, again, was the right thing to do.
The policeman, bless him, understood your predicament, and made sure you were ok back in your flat.
You did everything right. You should be proud of yourself. :A
If it's any consolation, I am one of those people who feel guilty if they see a policeman in the street, even though I one of the most law-abiding people imaginable! So if I saw a policeman ringing my doorbell, I'd be shaking like a leaf, my mouth would go dry, wondering what I'd done! So you're not alone in that respect.
It's always unnerving in these situations, let alone when someone's being arrested.
You did fine! No, you actually did brilliantly!(I just lurve spiders!)

Aw, thank you. I just wish I could stop shaking. I knew I couldn't ignore him because it could have been about anything but I am lucky that I didn't fall down the stairs I was shaking so much.
He was so sweet, he even stood at the door while I sat back down, I think I must have looked horrified and he was worried. I kept apologising and he did too.
A tiny bit of me is proud, it is the first time that I have answered the door in 4 years. Now I need to calm down.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

WaS!! The first time in 4 years! You're fantastic!! That's just brilliant!
My goodness! You have every reason to be proud of yourself, and I'm sure WaSP will be too!
That deserves a :j
Out of interest, why did the policeman ring your bell? Was it a mistake, or did they want to ask you about the guy upstairs?(I just lurve spiders!)

A wreck who was able to open the door, speak to the policeman and appreciate how kind he was being. You did it!! He said there is nothing to worry about.
There is nothing to worry about.
What was that grounding thing - the cushion is on the chair, the chair is on the floor, the pug is beside me giving me strength? Something like that?
Anyway, all that happened yesterday, now this is a whole new day & you're going to be just fine.Deal with things as they are, not as they should be.0 -
Now's just the right time to make yourself a cup of tea: peppermint tea? Or chamomile? Do you have anything like that? I hope you have some hot water in your flask.
Then a nice sit down and a snuggle into your furry throw, with a comforting warm cup.(I just lurve spiders!)

The bells are all one plate and the numbers don't show up in the dark, my door number is next to the neighbour's upstairs. As soon as I answered he said that he was here to see the man in flat 5 and would I mind letting him in? I then mumbled that wasn't my flat and said I had mental health problems whilst staring at his shoes (he had very shiny shoes) and he immediately said I am so sorry.
He let me go first up the stairs as I apologised for moving so slowly (stairs are difficult for my legs) and again he said that's totally fine, take your time, I am really sorry for disturbing you and then he held open my flat door open for me and waited until I was sitting down and told me it was nothing to worry about and asked if I was alright? He was actually a really sweet man.
Yes, first time answering the door in 4 years. I can't help but be a little proud of that.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France
