  • It is beautiful, haybel! What an incredibly beautiful card, you really are so talented. Mine look nothing like that, it's like comparing something a adult would do with a 5 year old!

I will be around for a while tonight so you won't be alone for a while if you need to talk. I am so glad that you have your mum to help out, I bet she is happy to do it because she must be worried, too.

    Medicating max...

    Pills or liquid?

Big dog has nasty tasting pills twice a day. They go in a bit of very nice tasting slice of pate type food when other people are feeding her. Can I suggest trying so etching like this?

Other short term fixes, not particularly healthy might be butter.....no, its not healthy, but more comfortably for him to swallow.

We also have the cue word here 'pain killer bicky' . This they know is a 'treat' that is just for them. The cue is they is a rush to get it, not a set up to fight against it. ( we also have 'bedtime biscuit' every night at bedtime, and day time biscuit very occasionally for certain day time occasions where I feel guilty or bribery is simplest option, biscuit are NOT what we use for training, or 'work" which are very tiny treats which don't have a name. )

Cannot help with the little one though.

Right, mine are off out pre bedtime biscuit.

Thank you LIR he has tablets for the steriods (had injection earlier to kickstart). He does not mind tablets - he prefers you to put in his mouth down the side and will quite happily swallow. As he has been poory on and off (thankfully much better now) he is quite good with tablets.

I used to hide them but because his issues were tummy related and he would refuse food anyway this used to stress him(he associated food when poorly with upset tummy, cramps and being sick). So I learned he would take it if I put in his mouth and encourage to swallow (now he just does it without encouragement).

He is equally fine with liquids. But then when he was at his worst there were many nights where i syringed him fluids to avoid him being at vets overnight which he hates and stresses him (their suggestion). He has been known to rip out canulas so mummy love with a syringe is his preferred option!

The problem is ear drops and ear cleaning solution especially when his ear so very painful. He will let me touch and examine his ear but becomes very frightened and stressed by the drops and cleaner even just the site of the bottle across the room. He has had quite a few ear infections bless him and he NEVER forgets anything. I am trying to do as quickly as possible as then he least opportunity to feel frightened and stressed but as he sees me coming its rather difficult! All ideas and suggestions most welcome and appreciated.

  • How sweet of you to ask about how I am when you are going through so much. I am better than I was, still anxious on my own but I think it is improving. I have been decorating my new tables with pretty cloths and the few ornaments I have so that was something nice to do. Before this I only had a coffee table which meant leaning forwards to pick things up which has been hurting a bit lately. So WaSp gets full marks for being thoughtful, I now have a table to the side which is just a few inches away.

  • Oh, MU big hugs if that is ok. I am sorry to hear that. Do you have a fluffy blanket to sit and cuddle or a cuddly toy? Try to do something comforting for yourself, warm drinks or soft music, how about thunder sounds? I know that you feel devastated and frantic all at once when you split with someone, I remember it well. My heart so goes out to you. If you think it might help trying writing down how you feel, just brainstorming. Use Notepad or a notepad and just write down everything that comes to mind, push the emotion out of you as much as you can.

I will be around for a while and keep checking back.

  • It makes perfect sense, I remember break-ups well. Your feelings switch around constantly and you just can't settle. Can you distract with something like dull tv or soothing sounds? Sometimes when things feel this bad it is better not to try and sleep, I always found the effort made me think even more. How about staying curled under your blanket and listening to or watching something even if you can't take it in and if sleep happens, it does? It is sometimes easier to drift off if you aren't concentrating on it.

See how you feel in the morning, you can always call in sick. However, keeping busy might be a better idea but judge that nearer to the time. your only task right now is that you do anything that gives you comfort, if that changes minute to minute then that is also fine. You are welcome to talk to me for as long as you wish, I will be here for at least another hour yet.
