  • Perfect starting point, thank you! I was just thinking with how I tend to detail things the poor ambulance people will be presented with a 300 page dissertation and need to sit down with a cup of tea to read it before getting me to hospital. I need something to force me to be concise!

One last thought before I head off to my pit, have you seen the hospital passport books for people with learning disabilities. Just wondering if a modified version of that would be of use for the times you're not able to tell people how best to support you.

And if this works, a small mutt story with a blanket theme.

  • Hahahahaha! I loved the mutt story! He sounded wonderful and such a character!

Good idea on the hospital passports. The problem with speaking during an episode is I lose the thread of what I am saying far more than when I write. The words are in my brain but the time they get to mouth they are all wrong. For example I am in pain may come out as I kettle am puppy. Writing works fine, it is a problem with the speech centre. Also I slur my words which according to my partner makes it look like I have had a stroke!

  • I have apparently now got liver failure which will become apparent within 3 days. Or liver cancer. Doctor Google is so optimistic. I need to distract and do something else before I put myself back where I started! These fixations drive me mad, one half of me panics and the other half wants to tell me off.

    Thunder sounds sound good!

Oh fixations, i can relate, i have a really bad habit of getting fixated on stuff (one reason why i'm struggling with weight loss as i get fixated on certain things which derail me somewhat)

Thunder sounds like a good idea, distract yourself and put something else in your mind :)

  • I can't sleep due to panicking about panicking. It is much harder to be alone at night now, I keep waiting for the same thing to happen again. Realistically it didn't happen for 8 years beforehand so the chances are low but it is still possible. Once I feel calmer I really need to become more prepared so that if/when there is a next time I will be able to cope with it better. I am also hoping that the current fear of being alone at night will fade, it is impractical to say the least. My partner cannot stay all night, I certainly can't afford a carer all night and at this rate I will become nocturnal and not see my partner at all. Besides, it's lonely sitting up on my own.

I hope everyone else is sleeping well including our animal friends! Sir Pugliet is keeping me company!
