I am loving the dog photos but had to google Merle Oberon.
WaS, do you know why your antipsychotics don't eliminate your psychosis totally?:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Am I being over-sensitive? I wonder if I see a penguin peeping round the corner. Perhaps WaS could confirm (or deny).Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0

LiR - rugs are so last year, concrete is THE look, it formed the whole floor of one house on grand designs reruns a couple of weeks ago. Kiwi could have been named for the rug

Yes I wondered too.
*Waves* at all the newcomers. Lovely to see you.
Loving the dog pictures and stories... I willl try and put a pic of my Max up prob wont be tonight as I am supposed to be finishing an article.
Max and I had a snuggly nap on the sofa earlier when little one had her nap. Cuddly Max naps are the best- he is the snuggliest cuddliest dog ever.
Thanks to little one he has developed quite a love of blueberries.I was frantic when she first gave him one but they are apparently good for dogs. Now whenever little miss has some he wants his own. Lol. But he is a monkey and eats his first in the hope she will share- which she normally does. But she will not give him one till he sits - lol not bad for 21 months and not something I have taught her she is just very observant. Mind you Max is equally clever and not to be outdone eats his and promptly heads over to her and sits down ready.
He gets quite bossed about sometimes poor boy. She loves him to lick her hands and will call him over specially but then if he stops before she thinks he is done she will tell him off and he has to start over. She giggles throughout. It is quite funny as you can see that sometimes Max thinks he has done an amazing job but she just doesnt agree.
The other day he stayed overnight at my Mums- he does from time to time- as getting a new washer dryer and did not want him to get out of the open gate. She was inconsolable- it is the first time she has noticed (he was quite happy as he sees it as a holiday and gets 3 breakfasts and extra walks). Every time he has been on a walk without her since she has cried. Mind you he hates going on a walk if 'his' baby is not going and normally hides under the coffee table and doesnt want to go. He has done this every since she was tiny. However if her shoes go on or the buggy comes out like a shot lol.

I love that photo, LIR! she looks overjoyed!
I haven't heard about Mutt yet, elsien, I would love to do so!
There is a tiny penguin peeping in around the door. For now it is better if I don't think about anything medical connected with liver failure at all or I will start going through what I do know in my mind and get myself in a state again.
When I have these obsessive fixations in general (which is what they are) outside help doesn't do much for me. I do check with people that it isn't true for reassurance but it tends to be trusted people rather than medical professionals and anyway as I said earlier when they tests come up clear at the hospital I believe something hasn't shown up or the test is wrong. Also the more I find out the more I will develop! My mind is so creative? odd? that if I think to myself my foot hurts that I will feel a physical pain there for a while afterwards. I have to be very careful about how much information I allow myself to have about illnesses, I am the definition of psychosomatic and have been this way since a teenager. Then I mess it up by reading Dr Google, of course and think I have about 5 different deadly diseases! Although it is in a another context this is no different to me hearing about someone dying and believing that I have caused it. It is just a different focus for the same obsessive thoughts.
The anti-psychotics I believe are taking longer to work because it was a worse than usual episode. It wasn't only a schizophrenic episode but my panic disorder was triggered, too by me trying to fight it. I don't have extra medication for the latter. Plus I am still very shaken so like anyone else I think I need time to calm myself down.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Right penguins ahoy then. I'm off to bed now.
Take care all.
Haynet I look forward to seeing max.
mutt, whose story I also read, was also a treasure.
Edit, haybel, I apologise for the auto correct or miss type last night. It might have been a miss type as I'd had to type the words hay net several times yesterday!0 -
An idea for future planning WaS - you have said that you are able to call for help if you need it but it is difficult for you to actually speak when you are going through such an episode. How about if you prepare a sort of information pack so if you do need police/ambulance etc you can hand them the envelope which contains relevant information about your condition, your knowledge of your condition, treatment you actually need, which may be as simple as company and reassurance? Possibly in a few days you could ask your partner to work out a simple list of information which could be useful to someone meeting you in an emergency situation.
Oh dear, hope you can work out the thread of my thoughts in there!
As ever, now drink a glass of water, if you can persuade yourself to do so more often you will benefit your whole body (including your liver!)
Hope you have a good night tonight. Your ring of friends is out here, surrounding and supporting you.Deal with things as they are, not as they should be.0 -
Hello Solar! Funnily enough I just poured myself some water!
An information pack is a good idea! I have been looking at the emergency bracelets or pendants for years now where you can write your conditions and medications. It does occur to me that a lot of my medication cannot be mixed with other types and if I was alone or my partner forgot what I was taking in a panic that mistakes could happen. For example anaesthetic has to be administered very carefully due to the anti-psychotics and I have to stay very hydrated at all times due to the Addisons disease but at the same time I need lots of potassium as my body retains very little. Then I look at the price of them and run away again!
An information pack could do the same job if I keep it with me at all times. I shall add that to the list of things I am making to cope with for when this happens again.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France
