If love to hear JM play as well, maybe that would help me sleep.

    Have you tried music?

Personally music keeps me awake more than helps me drift off usually, but ATM can sleep through most things.

I had a conversation with the parent who lives with us this morning with out waking up. On waking up a while a go think it was about parent taking one of the dogs out, hope so anyway!

Have you tried listening to the plainchant? As soft unaccompanied background music, it is very neutral, very soothing and may do the trick!
The one I posted for WaS has got gentle, soft watery noises too.

Well that's it. House closed up, people moved out regardless of their wishes, lots of tears and shouting, and I am now officially another statistic on the unemployment list.
Feeling slightly numb at the moment. So the plan is to treat this week as a holiday which it would have been anyway as its my birthday later in the week. Then I was going to have August to take stock and decide where to go from here. But as I am prone to worrying and catastrophic thinking, if there's no jobs on the horizon I'm going to start panicking. So I'll probably start redoing my cv etc straight away.
At least I've got Gitdog to get me out of bed and keep me in a routine. I really have no idea what I'm going to do with myself every day. Voluntary work i guess then all those jobs I've been putting off for months as I'm too busy. No excuse now.

One of my staff made me laugh. He said he could start liking me now that I wasn't traumatising him in supervisions any more. I will miss some of them.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Yes, first things first, Elsien, have a good, good rest. Listen to your body and your mind and if you feel like do nothing at all, then do nothing at all! Sitting, reading, relaxing outdoors is not 'wasting time', it's R and R, and sometimes that's more important than being up and doing. Then , do what you feel like doing for another few days, not what you think you ought to be doing! Give yourself that freedom for at least a week, and have a good birthday! :)

    elsien,

You will soon be so busy that you will wonder how you had time for work.

You can walk away proudly knowing that you made such a difference to the residents that they didn't want to go.

Good idea to have August off. In companies that I worked for August was slow for recruitment as so many people are on annual leave.

You have a wealth of experience. Keep your chin up, girl.

Thank you both. And if I'm going to be jobless at least it's in the summer when I can get out and about. And we're still rain free here at the moment.
(That's my attempt at looking at the positives btw.)
The thought of interviews after so many years scared me witless, even though my job role involved interviewing others so in theory I should know what I'm doing. But that's for later, right now I have a shed of a house to sort and a wilderness of a garden to tackle. I do like gardening, it helps me to switch off. If I had more time (in the long run) I'd get an allotment and I could take Gitdog down with me to terrorise the other allotment holders. He does miss not having a garden.

All an interview really is is a chance to see if you and the organisation get on. You have a lot of experience so you just need to chat about what you already know.

If the interview goes badly then you have probably had a lucky escape.

I have tried all sorts of different music, love listening to piano music but also tried others, not plainchant though so will give that a try.
