  • Thank you! Every little bit helps, I am seeing that! My partners car looks clean from the outside, just don't look under the seats!

Not too bad! I told them to shut up earlier while decluttering as they were distracting me. Sometimes being busy can help, they turn into background noise then.

Tomorrow, in addition to doing any decluttering that you want to, you can set a timer for 5 minutes per room, and declutter as much as you can from the room in that time. (nb the 5 mins doesn't include DP actually taking it out of the house, just getting it collated into one area....but it does have to go).

A couple of tips.. if decisions get hard, it can be useful to pick the worse two eg I may do that in the kitchen if I wanted to get rid of mugs.

It can also be useful to take something out of its normal environment where you are used to seeing it - is it tatty? is it broken? Could someone else use it more than we can? (The latter was useful to us for eg DD's clothes).

I also would like to know what you are currently planning to say at your next psychiatric appointment (obviously you don't have to tell us).

  • I am up to that challenge, whitewing!

As for the next psychiatric appointment I will tell him about this thread as it is really is helping me, I feel less alone and a tiny bit useful since starting it. I also think that my mood has improved to what it was the last time he saw me. I might discuss the book option again with him, too. He is also aware I have been trying to write one for 5 years and brings it up occasionally as he thinks it would be a good idea.

Aw, thank you dibuzz, I am trying! I really hope that you get some sleep tonight!

I've had 3 hours, that seems to be my limit these days.
Saw my doc yesterday, he said he can see a difference with the increased meds.
He's going to give me an injection in my thumb and said to just keep up my normal anti inflammatories and pain killers for my back for a few days to see if it settles down.

I have been up a while now, and had a lot of trouble dropping off last night. But never mind. Hope you get a bit more today, dibuzz.

The good news about my new medication is that I do seem to be losing weight. My clothes are looser but DH can't tell yet.

Enjoy your decluttering today, WaS. I am probably going to be out most of the day. I will probably take DD to the park later so I shall be thinking of you as she's climbing and swinging and sliding in the sunshine.

The cells that make up the human body are constantly renewed. I heard somewhere that this means that the entire body is renewed over 7 years. So WaS, although the impact of what your mum did to you has had a massive effect (as it would on anybody), it does mean that there is no longer a part of you that she actually touched. I hope that will help you realise that you are not ugly.

That's a very good point, Whitewing. Gives a whole new meaning to the term 'a new you!'
Then I started thinking about self-perception and ideas of beauty.

It's funny, you know, but whenever I have suddenly been attracted to someone, it has always been because they expressed an emotion or said something that touched me. It may have been a sudden smile, or an expression of concern, or a few significant words spoken. None of those people were particularly good-looking at all, but they suddenly became beautiful!
And that's what you did, WaS, way back in the thread! You touched us all! So what does that make you? Something beginning with B! I dare you to say it! Go on, say 'I am beautiful!'

P.s. I think we're going to have to call you Waves and Smiles and Pops!
