Hear! Hear! :T
Just thought, if you find a Kilner jar in one of the boxes under the bed, you can give it to Sir Pugliet to sit in (empty!) , as his own personal conservatory!
I can just see his little face peering through the glass!
Don't put the lid on though, we don't want him to suffocate
I only had 4 hours sleep but it was my back that was waking me up (even after my nightly tramadol) I just stayed in bed listening to some you tube meditation videos and don't feel all that tired this morning.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Well, this is the only thread where I thank every post. The reason is that everyone on here is lovely, and their posts are helpful/useful/empathic/funny/encouraging/supportive/morale-boosting et al. and so deserve to be thanked!
Apart from that, a 'thanks' acknowledges that the post has been read, and that's an especial boost of confidence for lurkers who decide to do a first or rare post.
A 'thanks' can also mean: thanks for the info/thanks for taking the trouble to say that/ I found that funny!/I agree with what you say/I appreciate your point of view even though I'm about to disagree/I'm here listening but I'm not up to joining in at the moment/I'm on your side/I'm sorry to hear that/thanks for sharing that with me/I really like this thread/you're not alone/..................and probably several more.
I can't think of anything negative about the thanks button.
It's also a way of feeling part of the group. If I come back to a thread after a few hours, say, and find that a previous post of mine has had some thanks, it's really nice! It makes you feel you belong to a little community. It's not a cliquey thing, because newcomers are always welcome, but I suppose it's a Team WaS thing! Looking out for each other, I suppose!
Hope that makes sense! I'm feeling a ramble starting, so I'll leave it there!
I totally agree with all of the above. The only thing is that if I thank every post (which I have now agreed with myself to do) it means I don't have a button to press for the posts I really love, where someone has made fantastic progress, made me curl up laughing, or generally made an inspiring post!I think I'm going to use the :heart2: a lot for that

I think if I ever got to your house LIR, then I would move in permanently. I love everything you post about it all.
.
Hmmm, did you read the posts about collapsing ceilings recently? We're just about to lose another I think......and the floor above it..
. It's kinda fun, but seriously expensive.

No, I didn't see those posts. All the more reason for decluttering - easier to cope with your house collapsing on you. I even more admire you to be posting when you have such a lot going on.
I got a hug today from a strapping young male. Remember when I said that during my post natal depression, I got unreasonably irritated by a particular member of staff and I knew that I was being irrational? Obviously I hid it better than I thought as I bumped into him in town today. I haven't seen him for years. It was great because it feels that something else from my past has been put to rest.
I have your DP to thank for that, WaS, as it was outside Superdrug when I went to take my unwanted medicines.
I have quite a good declutter of paperwork before I left this morning. And cleared the table of crafting stuff. So I felt good and calm, which was just as well as DH was sick all over the bathroom and his clothes. I told him he would feel better now, but DD was looking for reassurance as she hasn't seen him ill. (He has just been sick again so we will have to see how things pan out today. He is meant to be helping me at work as I have some staff off on holiday).:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Good Afternoon! Just staggered up to unpack an Approved Food order. They clearly believe I need more treats in my life. I ordered a lucky box and got 3 packs of sweets, 2 cans of Dr Pepper, a cupcake mix and a jar of jam among other things. Funniest thing of all is a huge tin with no label, could be anything! Not bad for 1p. Coffee then I shall catch up soon.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Awww, whitewing. I am sorry about the clubbing scenario. Off the top of my head, reasons why I don't like people looking at me-
I think I am truly ugly
I am paranoid I will make an idiot of myself
When I panic I think people can read my thoughts
I think people are giving each messages about how horrid I am
At school, the children would point and whisper and giggle about me
I am scared that I might act odd and frighten someone.
(excuse me being busy, I have a shelf to clear and objects representing letters of words to find! I will manage this, whitewing!)Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Approved Foods is a site that sells food close to or slightly after its best before dates (Not use by dates so it's safe and perfectly edible). The prices are much cheaper than usual. I use them for pasta, noodles and rice which they have a huge selection of, and treats, too! I have enough staples for 4 months now. There is a thread about them in the Shopping and Groceries forum. Occasionally they have a lucky box for sale which costs 1p if you buy £25 worth of goods. They will fill the box with random goods (which could be anything at all, but who cares? It's 1p!) until the box is full up. It's my favourite part! My lucky box was worth over £10 and nothing useless! I was happy to see that they gave me marmalade which I really like, but haven't thought to buy in years.
I sound like an advertisement but it is really useful for me with limited funds.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

There's a whole MSE thread about them here - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/26248
which I haven't read through yet, being a bit busy with this thread!Deal with things as they are, not as they should be.0 -
