I had a large bolt in my tyre today so changed the flat wheel outside the local fire station and got cheered for my efforts. I did note nobody offered to assist. Also I did it in about 10 mins so was impressed with myself!!0

Eeeeeeek! The whip is being passed around! <hides>
Well done on the tyre! I wouldn't know where to start. I never learnt to drive as I kept putting it off and now obviously it wouldn't be the best idea! I have driven my partners car around a car park, though for the experience. The main thing I remember is him yelling "Brake, brake, brake!" and disappearing to the pub afterwards. I wasn't allowed to use the family car until I had proved I could change a wheel, has come in handy several times and not just for me
Should be part of the practical test IMO. Oil, water, wheel change.
It takes a lot of nerve to try to teach someone you know how to drive your partner earned that visit to the pub!!
Random act of kindness today I bought a box of ice lollies and gave them to strangers in the streetIt was a thread from the arms that prompted that! What random act of kindness have you been on the receiving end of?

Awww, how sweet of you! That's a really lovely thing to do!
I have had quite a few kind and unexpected gestures. My latest was receiving pugliet who i adore and either sits on my knee or next to me. He is never far away and I consider him my good mental health pug!
Another very kind gesture that stunned me was when I had discovered that my cat had kidney failure and I had no idea how to pay her vet bill. I was playing a silly child's online animal game to try and distract myself and got talking to a dad who was helping his daughter play. She was confused about what to do so I helped them out. We chatted in general and I mentioned my cat. He sympathised and we spoke about other things for a while until he asked me to give him my paypal details as he was teaching his daughter kindness and asked if she could donate £1 to my cats care. After much refusing I gave in as he said it was the perfect teaching tool he was looking for. She did indeed donate £1 and he donated £450, it covered the entire bill. I had known them for 3 hours and it meant the world to me. I was a complete stranger to him.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

(Still catching up on the thread after my all day meeting. ):heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
I am still in vague contact with the little girl who is a big girl now and her dad. We occasionally send emails checking each other are ok. I have offered the money back to him many times and sent it through paypal once, he just cancelled the transaction. I still appreciate it so much, it was such a kind thing to do for a total stranger and meant that I could afford another night's dialysis for her.
Aha! I saw a challenge way back for a shelf to be cleared! So the following is going-
3 ornaments
2 scarves with matching gloves
A cat toy
A wooden heart hangy thing
Another picture frame
3 odd socks
2 used candles
The items won't leave until tomorrow now but they are ready to go!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

I was actually wondering if any of our little group was an artist. Some of the posts (bunnies building sandcastles, the heaven face on your dog haybel - which I can visualise soooooo well! - even a cartoon of the *whisper* radio waves might make it funny.... Wouldn't they be wonderful in the published edition of 'WaS and the Cupboard of Doom' ?
Ohh yes I totally agree.. wish I could draw or paint. I absolutely love cardmaking and papercrafter and cake decorating but cannot do any form of drawing or painting.Make £10 a day challenge November £125.60/310
