I don't know about a cupboard of doom, I seem to have a house of doom.
Haybel, I will be expecting you tomorrow to sort it out for me :)

Haha I would love too. I don't really do mornings though and neither does my little princess (she does not believe any time before 10am exists) so perhaps afternoon!

Thanks all. The difficult bits are as much around how it's been done and why, as the end result. Not something I can go into on a public forum but it's left me feeling bitter and disillusioned. And my redundancy date is my 50th birthday which was kind of the icing on the cake. As it were.
So the plan is to spend the rest of this week running in ever decreasing circles. Have a go at some birthday celebrations next week, although I will be counting backwards from this point in. Then take August to have a break before getting into the serious job hunting.

And on a cheerier note, if the travelling hamsters isn't the name of a band, then it really should be. We already have jobbing musician, I can make a racket on something drum like. Any other takers?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

elsien, I'm sorry that I didn't send my best wishes to you earlier. A life changing time for you. I have been made redundant twice and it is a sad but it is also a teensy bit exciting.

I would like to echo this. I have been made redundant in the past from a job I loved and it sucked. Please do post so that we can be helpful and supportive of you. Like the others I am glad you have joined us.

So the plan is to spend t

I would be fairly cheerful about that. I like milestones to have proper dates. elsien, I hope you have a wonderful birthday and that you feel better about it all. I hope August is lovely and sunny for your month off. I skived off for a long lunch break today and I feel rejuvenated. Even a tiny break from normality made a huge difference.

I have just had a very enjoyable few minutes sharing a toffee sundae mousse style dessert with my dog Max. He has a face that we jokingly call the this is heaven face. He always uses it when he knows he is getting an extra special treat like sharing a yoghurt or a mousse. It is so adorable and cute and always makes me smile.

Feeling a bit fragile. Max always knows when I need a little tlc. When I am poorly I call him my furry nurse as he will sit with me for hours. When my rheumatoid arthritis was bad once I had steroid injections into both knee caps, Max sat with me for 10 hours straight hardly moving for fear of knocking me and snuggling and kissing me better. He only moved when my mum came to let him out or my partner came home from work. He takes his nursing role very seriously and has been known to sit with little one for hours watching Shrek and Peppa pig when she has been ill. She will sit on my lap and he leans in and snuggles putting his head on her little lap. Its beautiful.

So lucky to have both my gorgeous babies.

My dog was the same, she always knew when I needed her, often before I knew myself.

She used to start the night at the bottom of my bed and sneak up till her head was on the pillow next to me. I've even been known to get out of bed to turn over so I didn't disturb her :)
