You are distracting me from work. I am tying up a lot of little bitty jobs today. You have obviously got too much energy to spare so go and get a couple more things out of the Cupboard of Doom.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. All this clearing out is catching.
Waves and Smiles, dog dog's chair is going to the tip tomorrow. its a leather armchair but she has uncharacteristic ally destroyed this and the two matching sofas some people we know gave the dogs.
I think its cos these people smoke / take things the dogs aren't used to the smell of and dog dog fancied herself a sniffer dog.
Anyway, last thing was the armchair and its going to the tip.
She has beautiful, beautiful dog beds, and in the future when we are a two dog family I think they will spend nights either with us, or in a purpose made dog bed in the boiler room where its really warm, the younger two love to be toasty warm!0 -
Clever doggie!
Dogs seem to be so good at using their beds and toys. My cats were utterly useless in that regard. I had cat beds and little huts everywhere, they slept on the back on the sofa, on laptops, on top of cupboards. I bought a load of cat toys, they wouldn't play with them at all and preferred screwed up sweetie wrappers. Also, they walked off in disgust at catnip, too. All 7 I have had. Don't even mention the pointlessness of a scratching post.

Our cats sleep with us, but they also love a radiator bed and one thing we keep for them is a particular bed which we take on holiday / travelling and they love it, they know where that comes is home for the time being. They're very adaptable. Have bed, litter tray and their people...they are fine. Not typical cats at all!0 -
What a wonderful idea to take their beds with them! I used to have travelling hamsters! Although I had a friend who would feed my cats way back in the days when we went on holiday, she was afraid of hamsters so we used to take them with us! We used to get such odd looks at pet friendly cottages when we would turn up with a cage rather than a dog on a lead. The hamsters never minded, I think that they enjoyed having somewhere new to run around!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Incidentally, I wouldn't recoomend having cats and hamsters but I came across my two by accident. My friend bought them for her children and sadly one who had autism couldn't grasp that they weren't toys that couldn't die. He would stand on their cages and poke them with pens and scream into the cage. It wasn't his fault at all, just the wrong pet for him. They became very scared and therefore very aggressive and couldn't be handled so she was going to take them back to the shop.
Everyone wants baby hamsters so I could guess what would happen to very bitey hamsters who were 6 months old, so offered to take them. They had their own room but my cats were so useless that when they did meet the cats would just stare into the cage and the hamsters would walk up to the bars and look at them. After a month (and a lot of nibbled fingers) they stopped biting and I could cuddle them as much as I wanted. The poor little things were just afraid and made wonderful pets.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Did you get your cistern done today, WaS?:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

The cistern is...interesting. It was fixed so it is working again but water is now constantly dribbling into the bowl! Not a massive emergency as I don't have a water meter but it is still a waste so I think it might need fixing again if it doesn't stop.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

No, WaS, the cistern is not interesting by any stretch of the imagination!
