Morning, whitewing! Me being the paranoid mess that I am tends to lurk everywhere for years before actually posting. I never posted at all under my last account but I read the forums every day for years. Now I wish that I had because it has been such a wonderful experience.
Have I mentioned the pain in my side? I am being a big baby here but I have no one to whine to. Stabbing pain everytime I slightly move, what on earth did I do to the muscle? My carer let me off of physio this morning because she could see me wincing just on standing up. A hot water bottle might help but hardly the weather. Expect possible whining throughout the day if it doesn't improve. Just ignore me...Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Does anything like Deep Heat cream help? I loved the warmth of that.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

That has made me smile broadly. Love the fact your possessions are venturing out in the world. It could become the home for someone's first pet.
I put a big folder in recycling today. It is big as it can be flipped over to form a stand. Potentially very useful indeed but I have had it umpteen years and not used it for that. Still a wrench though for some reason. Nowadays if I needed a presentation I could plug the computer into the TV screen - couldn't do that when I got the folder. The folder was free from a previous job so it hasn't even cost me anything.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. That's a thought! When my partner wakes up I shall get him to pop over the road to the chemist and get some. Thank you!
Perhaps he could pick up some ginger, too. If nothing else eating it and drinking it in liquid will make me very happy.
Well done on the folder! We are both doing well! The hamster cage was a bit of a wrench because I remember my pets in it but then another little hamster could get the benefit so that counteracts it.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

I think I spent months lurking, then got brave enough to venture into pets and competitions, but it took years before I got the bottle to say anything in the Arms or Discussion time. They're a bit robust in there, to say the least.
I am jobless as of next week, and decluttering is on the list to keep me busy. Well, less decluttering and more trying to find things I've put away so safe I can't find them. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Discussion Time scares the life out of me! I hardly ever read that forum because people are rather erm forthright in their views! I started off reading the Debt and Old Style forums as at that time I had a £3800 debt to loans and cards. It doesn't sound a lot but being on benefits it was huge to me. That came about from having to move house and finding moving fees and rent in advance and a deposit, and from paying for the treatment for my cat who had kidney failure. The possibility of not paying for her treatment was never on the table, I would have done anything for her.
Join us decluttering, Elsien! I have so many things that are in a safe place that it's untrue, some I haven't seen for years which I suppose means I don't actually need them anymore. It would be nice to find my passport, though for ID purposes. I remember thinking that I will put it 'there' where it will be safe...Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

I did that with a set of house keys - they turned up 12 months later in the loft, after I'd had to pay to get more cut. I've also got an envelope of money which I've put safe and which could be anywhere. I think I'm turning into my grandmother - open anything in her house and £10 notes would fall out. She wasn't a great believer in banks.
I may need some moral support next week off you nice people. I'm redundant after 25 years service as the home is closing. I'm holding up emotionally this week - I have to for the sake of the people living here who are having to find new homes to live - but I suspect when it's all over I'm going to crash mentally. So if my posts are a bit intermittent, it's because I'm feeling fragile. I find it hard to talk to family about it as I don't want to worry them. So I'll pile it all onto you lot instead as you've more inkling of where I'm coming from. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Aw, I am sorry elsien. It is doubly hard for you because not only won't you have your job but you will have to say goodbye to the residents, too. I found the latter very hard when I left work. We will be here to listen as much as you need, do try to keep yourself busy over the coming week and post as much as you need to. I'll be thinking of you.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France
