Quite a few chickens have feathered feet.....even some of my hybrids do.. ( I kept Cochins for a while which do, I love those birds, one of my favourite breeds, and beautiful little millefleur bantams which are incredible little birds with INCREDIBLY feathered feet)
But no, I cannot tell what he is, sorry. If any one wants a hybrid with chicken feet......especially boys.....yell. For some reason I have had a load which seem to have masculinise over winter. I cannot believe they are ALL such late bloomers, but masculinisation is really rare, so they must have all been very late. I had two boys in that group, now every where I look there are boys appearing. :mad:0 -

At the risk of sounding really dense here. Do you mean your chickens have turned into males? Hows does that happen :eek:0 -
Just looked up masculinisation. Interesting.
I know a lot of female animals can show masculine characteristics. My female dogs were both spayed, and at times tried to mount things, usually humans who were on the floor for one reason or another!
Never heard of hens turning male, though!
Do they grow combs and start crowing?(I just lurve spiders!)

I think mine have just been late maturing.
But VERY, VERY, VERY, rarely a girl chicken can turn into a boy. ( tbc I don't really think that's happened here! )
It usually happens when there are no other boys about ( I have loads of boys so that's not the case here. They become male looking...get tail feathers and combs and crow like boys and stuff, but are infertile.
Its exceptionally rare though, so I doubt I have a rash of it;). I'm just really surprised. The only birds I find hard to sex after they are wee is silkies. So not sure what happened here, maybe the boys kept hiding at the back?
We have a broody I girl already this year, I must remember to whip any eggs she has found away from here tomorrow morning.0 -
I never knew chicken could do that! That's amazing!
