Hmmm. Well, I do have some memory of 10,000 being recommended, but there certainly are longer ones around (ooo but not on the match betting board at the moment).

But why does it have to be locked just because it's reached 10k pots? I don't understand.
Is there a tech problem with it being so long?

Also I'd have to redo the original etiquette post, because I always post it by quoting from the original on P. 154, and I wouldn't be able to get to that on a new thread.

Mellymoo, I don't understand. Was it a real orb or a vision? If the latter, was it perhaps something bad leaving your life?
WaS , you might have an idea, perhaps? About Mellymoo's orb, that is?

  • WaS, so pleased to hear about your 'job'/volunteering opportunity, I think it will do you the world of good :) I am envious too! :)

Pyxis, would you be able to copy and paste the etiquette post?

Something technical. I assume it's to do with storage - perhaps a new copy is stored every time we add a post? I will ask.

We can swap to a new thread any time we like, with an enormous post at the end of this one, asking for no new posts on here, and giving the link to a new post.

Pyxis - you could prepare for this now. Press quote on the etiquette post, then post all the resulting text into a word document. I think it will work if you post ALL the resulting text into the new thread, but if not, just post the actual ettiquette text in!

oldestgnome - lovely to hear from you. I didn't comment on your earlier pix, because my little brain can only cope with one thing at a time, but simply wonderful!

melly - I am hoping it's something bad leaving, as well.

WaS and all - here is a question. Do you want the same title for the new thread, or should we have a new one which shows what a welcoming inclusive place this is? :D If so, what shall we call it?

    New title suggestion..... how about:-

Anyone who needs to can be heard for a little while!

(Ps. I had already done a copy/paste into my iPad Documents.
I've just tried doing a copy/paste into another old thread of mine, [and then deleted it!], and as I suspected, doing that copies the text but eliminates the different colours and font sizes and deactivates the link address in the middle. It's not insurmountable, and I can make a note of the colours and font sizes etc. now, I suppose!)

Edit. Ok, I have printed out the etiquette, and annotated all the colours, font and size changes etc., so that I could do all that manually when the Etiquette is posted onto the new thread!
    Cup of tea, now!

Re-re-edit! Yey!!! Done it! I re-read your suggestion, JM, and realised I had just cut and pasted, not quoted and cut/paste, so I tried it again on another thread, and it came out with all the sizes and colours, but also in the quote green. So I deleted the 'quote' instructions and it came out as an original! Wahayyyy! Simples!
So that won't be a problem!

Ps. WaS, perhaps more important than the number of posts is that the thread has had 195,944 views, and that is a lot more people than have posted on here, so even if a quarter of those viewers have had a weeny bit of help, that is an awful lot of people that YOU have helped by starting this thread! :T

I don't know. We are built on an airfield and there are a fair few sightings round here.
It was a zippy thing didn't feel scary or negative.
  • Actually looking forward to going to work tomorrow, I feel that I have been born with a very good spoon. Just hoping for a West Ham win to round off a nice weekend.
  • Good afternoon all!

I sent you a pm about your orb, melly!

I'll be there about 7pm code, get the haggis out!

I like that title, Pyxis! I can't believe how many views we have had! When I made first quiet little post I never would have imagined this!

How positive, LFW! You must be happy to be looking forward to going to work! Crossing my fingers for West Ham for you!

After talking it over with WaSp I have decided to accept the placement at the farm. I won't be able to go every week but she told me once a week, once a month or once a year is fine. I admit that I am scared because the slightest pressure makes me panic and I have a huge fear of failure but I think that will be outweighed by the joy.
