Sav4it - I called them confirming my 4 DD's to transfer last week and as of today one of them is already showing, my National Insurance one (no flies on the government!).

RegularSaver - I know there's a number... just... when you;re in a rush and just want to give feedback or ask a non-urgent question, I'm used to just e-mailing FD, they usually answer within a day, very handy... oh well, best save all my questions for 1 call to Halifax!

    Hi all
I Set my account up on 15th March just before they stopped paying the £100 transfer bonus. I still haven't received my £100 despite doing everything they asked including using the Transfer Team.
I am told that because the transfer team failed to set up all of my direct debits (their fault not mine) and because my loacl branch told me to sort it myself as Head Office are incompetent (their words not mine) I won't be getting the £100.
If you ask me this is nothing short of a scam and from what I've seen so far Halifax aren't worth bothering with.
I've lodged a formal complaint, lets see what happens now.
    Cheers
    Jimmy

They seem to be suggesting that you have failed to qualify because you transferred some of the DD's yourself.
In my case they sent a letter saying that I may HAVE to do this because some companies will not deal directly with them.
It seems a bit harsh to refuse to pay you the £100 for something that they suggested. You should check the letters they
sent you - its on the one listing the DD's that they plan to transfer for you.
In a way you are lucky - they won't tell me why I've not been paid. Good luck - sounds like you'll beat them in the end.

The terms and conditions for this offer state that you have to pay in £1000 per month for 2 consecutive months to qualify for the £100.
Does anyone know what their definition of a month is? Is it a calendar month or the time between monthly statement dates?

I received my £100 today after applying in March. Their transfer dept was hopeless, I had to supply them with all the details because my old bank refused to co-operate but it was worth the hassle.

The old bank was Nationwide, they refused to co-operate.

What evidence do you have that they refused?
    Did you raise a complaint?
Nationwide are signed up to the BBA Banking code which states they will give info on standing orders and DDs within 3 days.
    See paragraph 7.2

OK, tks. I've just finally taken steps to "switch" from Abbey, now they've finally !!!!!! me off, to the 'new' a/c at Coventry1st which has been up-and-running since April (and I'll use the new Halifax-Hi-Intrest as my cheque a/c - tho' I have several others [including Nationwide..] as back-up if HBOS lets me down). So it'll be interesting to see if the Abbey drags its feet with my myriad DDs & SOs or not.

The Halifax wrote to me saying that they refused. I didn't complain, I just prepared the list of DDs myself and sent it to the Halifax Transfer Dept.
