  • Well it's pay day for me on Monday and that makes another £1000 monthly payment into my account.

Intend to give them another week or so after that to cough up the £100 or then I will start moaning.
It's far better to be penny wise than pound foolish.

  • I went for this account, i rang up before i applied to ask if i could do the switching service from a joint account to one that is sole in my name (the halifax one) i was told yes..

i went through all the forms, filling them out, posting them off, halifax "loosing them" re filling the forms out.. just to be told.. im not eligable because my previous account is a joint account.. AAARRRRGGGGG...
  • its not a case of not being eligible - its more your existing bank would not accept switching instructions from a joint account, into a sole account. names have to match ( all names on the old account, have to be on the new account)

Hmm - looks like the going rate for inconvenience has gone up - they've offered me £50!
I noticed that - you must have found someone in a more generous mood!

Amazingly I have just received £100 in my account which I guess is the incentive payment. Its only three weeks after the end of the month in which I made my second £1000 credit. Took a lot of trouble to get here first the account was opened with a previous address of mine. Then I was told my current bank didn't know me, then that there was no DDs or SOs to transfer when of course there was. So 3 months and 4 days since opening the £100 makes it worthwhile.

Got mine too. Same day as you Nigel and earlier than expected.
No problems at all. Initially opened the account for the incentive but will keep the account as it is very useful now that I have a Sainsbury's Internet saver too.

Looks like only a few of us have had a problem. Got my £50 compensation today so I suppose it was nearly worth the hassle - good luck to anyone else with problems and thanks again for the advice.

Same here only opened for the £100 only one SO to transfer over like you am using it with the sainsburys account to distribute money to regular saver accounts elsewhere.

I presume it's now safe to cancel the SO?

    I guess so!
In my case it wasn't even a standing order they managed to transfer it was just a single payment mandate. For some reason, they didn't move the two regular payments I had set up specially. I had already set up a mandate on the Halifax account to the same place so its there twice now.
