Forgot to say - well done Forever Red - liked the poll - pity a few more people havn't voted - not sure its a big enough sample to take much from it but it seems that there's a few of us battling to get this money!
I would've voted in the poll - only it seemed to have closed after about 5 minutes... I went away for 2 weeks & it had opened & closed during the 2nd week, apparently!
Anyway, as I said on the other post [oh, DO stop repeating yourself!] everything went pretty smoothly for me & the hundred quid was received in a timely manner without having to ask. Some of us were lucky, it seems.Expect the worst & hope for the best...0 -
Well got my £100... took a while though... :j
Accepted for the account (letter dated: 14/2/07)
£100 credited to my account: 28/8/07 !!
Thats over six months!!!
Did manage to extend the interest free overdraft for an extra 4 months on top of the original 4 months as they took forever to transfer my salary to the account; in fact come to think about it... they never managed it, I had to sort it out!0 -

did that affect what level of interest they were paying you or did you still fund it with at least £1k a month?0 -
carpy... seem to have been paid interest at the correct percentage for when the account is in credit... tricky one cos I have been utilising the £1000 interest free overdraft facility!!
Will definitely be checking once the interest free period ends and the account stays in the black!! Maybe worth a call to Halifax to find out a definitive answer to your question... i'd certainly be interested in the result...

Well - success. I got a letter today promising to pay the £100 pounds with an apology and an offer of £50 for my inconvenience. Just shows the value of complaining!
Pity I had to escalate to customer relations and threaten them with the ombudsman.
Apparently, the reason I wasn't paid is that they had accidentally opened 2 accounts for me and that the second account caused me to fail to meet the
"no previous current account" criteria.
All I need now is the money, so I'll add another post to let you all know how long it takes them to actually pay - the money was due at the end of may so only 4 months delay!0 -
:j Got the £100 today - about a week after their letter. Good luck to any of you still out there waiting and thanks for all the advice...0

....and - did u get the £50 as well, Jemmou ?Expect the worst & hope for the best...0

Not yet - had to send a form off agreeing that it was "in full and final closure" of the complaint, but I don't see why they won't pay it - fingers crossed.0

All of these are now set up and I have deposited £1,000 in March, April, May and June but no sign of the £100.
Every Monday for the last 4 weeks I have called their customer "service" line. Each time the person on the line agrees with me that the £100 should have been paid by now and they email the "switching team" to chase the matter up. "The money will be in my account in the next few days"
Silly thing is it's actually quite a good account paying 6% so I don't need to worry about having too much in there. Would just be nice if they kept their side of the bargain.
Has anyone had the £100?!

Update:
I initiated the complaints procedure in July which took them about 7 weeks. Got a letter on 10 September saying they'd pay the £100 within 10 days plus £20 for the inconvenience.
£20 arrived on 11 September but no sign of the £100 after 10 days so sent another fax yesterday. £100 turned up later that afternoon.
So finally Halifax did pay up after 6 months, but not without a fight!

Hmm - looks like the going rate for inconvenience has gone up - they've offered me £50!0
