Thank you lily rose. I had a couple of my gay friends text me basically saying "did he really say that" like you said #awkward!

I started the thread, however after reading most of the comments I really wish I hadn't. Some of the comments are judgemental!

I personally like ant and dec but just thought the comment was a little close that was all. As others have said, it did seem to get lost in translation, hence the dancers faces.

Anyway, I'm over it, as well as these comments. But thank you and one other person who backed me up slightly :)

Yeah, I did think 'oops,' when I saw their faces. :D But I really don't think Dec meant anything. As I said, it is mildly possible that Dec didn't even realise. My aunt is the same. No gaydar at all! :rotfl:

And yes people can be a bit brutal and harsh on here! I don't know why. There's the people who say what they think to people and are straight and honest, (which is fair enough.) And then there are the ones who are just flipping plain rude and nasty, and really talk down to you. I've witnessed this first-hand several times recently. Completely uncalled for rudeness.

The program is not intelligent. No one said the people watching it arent. Although there is a strong chance this may be the case for some.

Three VERY camp men, dancing in high heels? I'm pretty sure that Dec realised (along with the rest of us) that they were gay!

IMO, the joke appeared to be lost in translation but it was no worse than when David Walliams makes endless jokes about Simon Cowell being gay.

You should read the "In the closet gay celebs" thread on DigitalSpy, where people speculate endlessly about how Dec is (allegedly) really gay and is madly in love with Ant,who is straight, and how he has eyes for no-one else, even though he knows his love is doomed etc etc etc.

    Much funnier than BGT!

I apologise if this is on the wrong board.... Feel free to move me!

I'm complaining to ofcom about the comment just made by one of the presenters to the male dancers

Something along the lines of "what do your wives/girlfriends think of this" especially as the guys are gay!

What do others think, if you watched of course

Oh for gods sake! You are referring to Dec yes? He has got to be one of the nicest guys on TV; probably a slip of the tongue. Do you not have better things to worry about?

Edited to say glad I'm not the only one who thinks you are way OTT. *shakes head*
  • As others have said, just a bit of British humour lost in translation. There was no malice involved here and the comment me laugh out loud.
BGT is what it is, light-hearted entertainment watched or not-watched by all sorts of people, most of which are probably more talented than the contestants :).

    Keep Smiling :)

    No there isn't.

There is a VERY strong chance though, that people who don't watch BGT, (or Big Brother/X Factor/TOWIE etc,) think they are better and cleverer and of a higher class than people who do watch these programmes. ;)

I laugh at loud at these people. :rotfl:

I think that the OP ought to lighten up a bit, Dec meant it was a joke.

There are bigger things in the world to be worrying about.

I think....it was a joke. Maybe in bad taste perhaps, but hardly complaint worthy.

A bloke can still be gay and married you know, as my husband has just informed me that he is gay and I've been married to him since 1995!
