I'm guessing that you buy one of those really annoying musical cards, cut out the bit that makes the noise, and pop it between the seal on top of the tube and the plastic lid.Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j
If all else fails, remember, keep calm and hug a spaniel!0 -
My stuff was found in her draw and the person said I put it there to frame her  (Liar). But it was the musical pringles tube what gave her away. :j
She's not a very intelligent thief if she keeps the items she has stolen in her drawer! Also to keep coming back and taking the same person's lunch every day.
If there is enough evidence against her, I would think she'd be sacked for gross misconduct following the investigation. If OP works in a bank (?) chances are there are cameras above the working area, and the footage can be examined. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Tbh I'm quite shocked that she hasn't been sacked for gross misconduct straight the way but hopefully it's just company policy and she will be dismissed after an 'investigation'.
I work for a government organisation and a manager and another colleague were recently sacked for stealing cans of coke from a vending machine.March 2014 Grocery challenge £250.000 -
My sister worked as a manager for a banking call centre and was very frustrated with the disciplinary policies there.
Staff that she thought should be sacked for clear instances of gross misconduct, such as swearing at customers, were often allowed to leave the company (I can't quite remember the details but sensed they were allowed to resign without having a disciplinary offence put in their record or pretence that their contract had come to an end or were made redundant.Sorry I can't quite remember which/if all those processes they used but they certainly weren't walked off the premises or sacked for gross misconduct).
According to my sister, staff subject to disciplinary procedures often contested them because they knew they couldn't claim unemployment benefits if they were sacked (presumably also they realised they would find it hard to get work elsewhere).
She reckoned that poor staff had the company over a barrel because of the time, expense and effort it takes to contest their defence and that the company would just roll over and let them leave without a stain on their record.0 -
Did I read correctly that you work for a bank?
My husband has worked in this industry for 20 years and if he were caught stealing anything he would be escorted off the premises then and there by security with all access to systems immediately revoked pending investigation. There's not a lot worse for a bank than a disgruntled, dishonest employee. It might be the area my husband works in but I would have thought that company rules would dictate the same for everyone.
There's also no chance of her ever getting a job in this area again if she is sacked.
No I don't work for a bank, I think you may have misunderstood when I said I sit on a bank. Some people would call it a pod. It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun0 -

Correct that is exactly what my friend done for meIt's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun0 -
I hope they nail the horrible thief to a wall for you Yvonne, I don't care how old she is, this is bullying in the workplace at best and harassment and theft at worst.
The musical Pringles tin is brilliant0 -
Yes my boss was having a smoke break yesterday afternoon at the same time as the girl when she opened the pringles and the music came on. It was only today at 10am when I was telling HR and my boss the full story that he realised it was her. They went straight to the first floor where she works and did a draw check and found everything.
She couldn't explain why the pringles had my name and dob wrote in invisable ink at the bottom or why my swipe card hadn't been used to get access the floor where she worked.
Did your boss not wonder at the time why she had musical pringles?I would loved to have seen her face when the music started playing:rotfl:0 -
It must be so scary for someone to have that sort of vendetta against you.
She doesn't know where you live does she?0 -
The link I have was to a police detective who was convicted. I'd have thought in his professional life he came across a fair few "decent solicitors" and money would have been no object as the police federation would have been paying his legal fees.
Why would you render food you intended to eat yourself harmful? How could a solicitor whether decent or not explain that away? The idea you would administer a laxative to yourself midway during a working day is hardly credible and I can't see any judge, magistrate or jury believing it for a second.
Not sure if anyone has pointed this out yet but in the link you provided, the detective was acquitted, not convicted.
The jury in mr quigleys case believed he did not intend to cause harm - despite the fact that he purposely put screenwash (ie something that is not fit for consumption) in a bottle to specifically pass it off as an energy drink.
I vaguely also recall something along the lines of not being liable if they are harmed while committing a crime but I cant remember the specifics and not on the home pc so cant look into it at the moment.
As for OP, I've yet to read the rest of the thread so apologies if its been suggested or the issue has been resolved, but the cool bags you get usually have zips on them.....if the zips have holes in them you should be able to put a small padlock on it so your lunch doesnt need to stay in the car.You keep using that word.
