Knowing this now has made me want to kick up a fuss in work tomorrow. Wait until HR get in tomorrow I want a meeting with them and my boss. No more getting brushed off like I'm imagining things I want results tomorrow and I best get them or I'll have no choice but to say I want them to call the police about my missing property.

That's the spirit, you go girl! :)

I didn't realise you had another thread about problems at work, but I would be more shocked if the two incidents weren't connected, it's far too much of a coincidence.

I hope you get this sorted, don't let them fob you off again, this is as serious as workplace bullying gets, they have a duty to deal with it properly.

Ooooohhhhh, attach the lunch bag to a line of strong thread to the ring pull of an attack alarm which is also attached by a thread to the desk leg so that when the lunch bag is moved a fairly short distance it starts screaming there and then.

I don't always hear my mobile phone from the bottom of my bag but you can't miss the scream of an attack alarm. See how they explain themselves out of that, ha ha ha!!!

I really hope you find out who it is and they get their comeuppance, nasty little git.
Do you have an old mobile phone?

You could put this into the lunch box and ring the number when the box goes missing to try and find out who is taking your food.

    These are great ideas!

    That's actually a really good idea....genius!

Yvonne, this sounds very much like someone had a personal vendetta against you now. :(

I haven't read your other thread but I'd say there's a very high percentage that the person is one and the same.

Given the other thread, it's quite possible that the person who is taking the food and now the possessions isn't after the food or the bag and is just throwing it away. Taking just part of the food messes with your head far more than someone helping themselves to a whole sandwich or yoghurt or apple.

I hope for there sake they have a good reason why because I've had enough.

Is there any way you could set up a time or two in advance (say with your boss, or someone from HR, or someone else you trust) where you leave to use the bathroom while they discreetly watch out for who visits your desk while you're gone?

Did someone suggest a camera? You could attach one under your desk - check with IT/office manager you can plug it in if you have to. (Ours is pretty slack where things like that are concerned.)

Nobody will notice a camera fixed to the underneath of a desk...

Also agree that they're probably binning it so most ideas on here wouldn't work.

The burglar paint sounded like a good idea. Obviously you don't want that all over your bag or floor, but if you could paint the top and sides of a lunchbox and leave it under your desk, they'll probably grab it without realising... depends if you can paint it at work or not I suppose. HR really should help - suggest some of these ideas to them.

I feel so stupid it didn't come to my mind that it could be the same person. I'll tell my boss tomorrow as I'm sure he can find out who it was.
