Nothing's changed for me so people shouldn't be jelous. Wait.....hang on....sorry yes there's a girl from the first floor I'm training up to do my job when I go on annual leave, do you think someone in the office could possibly be jelous of me training someone up? Actually forget that I think this is personal and about me hence no-one elses stuff is touched.

As an act to wind you up, it's really succeeding. I'm not surprised it invokes paranoia - someone is actually out to get you.

A person who is a sandwich short of a picnic won't be acting logically - if it is based on a slight or grievance, for example, than it is likely to be an imagined one which no-one else could have identified has any basis in reality.

Having said that, if your lunch doesn't go missing tomorrow when you've given the nod to your boss that you are away from your desk, you are going to start suspecting him! And yet it could just be a fluke because the actual thief has merely taken the day off work, for example. And so it goes on...

TBH - I can't believe this is happening - these are meant to be adults!!!
Anyway - as your boss seems to be onside - "if" lunch goes missing tomorrow (sadly, I have to assume it will) - if you let your boss know immediately could they not instigate a bag/drawer search then before there is time to dispose of your stuff?

It might also be worth having a picture of lunch on your phone and if you're using another tub then a note in it so thief can't pretend it's their own one.

I know it sounds cloak & dagger but there would be nothing worse than a smug culprit getting away because you couldn't prove this was your lunch.

    Best of luck tomorrow...

I must be going senile. I'd swear I saw it in Employment, Jobseeking & Training. :o

No hun I never posted this thread in there, you must be talking about the thread I wrote talking about someone reporting to HR for drinking alcohol in work which was a lie.

Wait a minute.....I wonder if that situation is connected to this?

If tomorrow nooone is caught and it still goes missing, Can you leave your lunch at your bosses office? or someone elses desk?
Would be interesting to see if it STILL goes walkies!!

With that volume of staff it really could be anyone!

I`d be so tempted to do a chilli powder sandwich tomorrow now, I`m not one to agree usually but this person needs to learn a lesson!

  • I thought I asked you that Yvonne in your other thread. It was the first thing I thought. Did you ever find out who reported you?

I`ve just had a read of that and seeing as it was VERY recent and about your `item` under the desk it certainly seems so!
Now obviously HR know who accused you of drinking wine (when it was WATER) so they may have to go from here to see if this person is now stealing from you!

Also, didn't someone report you to social services, or was it another poster? Could that be related too?

Edit: Sorry, I got you confused with someone else.

    Something like this:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Masione-trade-Hidden-Camera-Recorder/dp/B00GMZWG54/ref=sr_1_cc_3?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1401307248&sr=1-3-catcorr&keywords=hidden+usb+detection+camera

I have used something similar in the past, worked fine when activated to just run and record but not for motion activation. Would be suitable to run for a short break etc though ;-)
  • Do you have an old mobile phone?

You could put this into the lunch box and ring the number when the box goes missing to try and find out who is taking your food.

I feel so stupid it didn't come to my mind that it could be the same person. I'll tell my boss tomorrow as I'm sure he can find out who it was.
