I think we moved past that some time ago.
It's very clear if you read the thread that it did not, but the OP has accepted that.
The issue is that he was told that he would get a better room for the upgrade price when, according to the hotel manager, all the rooms are the same. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
No we only had general terms and the upgrade was accepted when we booked.
When we arrived and did not have a bath, I asked what the £80 covered. We were then told that all rooms had showers, were identical in every way including price.
They told me to complain to Teletext.
I assumed there was a bath as in 20 years of European Holidays we have always had one. My mistake.0 -

Hi Azari - I figured as much but couldn't see anything where the OP had specifically said whether the room was stated to have a bath or not - just a reference to teletext and a call centre telling OP about decor et al.
Sorry if I wasn't clear, I didn't mean to be confusing x0 -

thanks for clarifying - if you just assumed it had a bath then I can't see a ground for a refund on that basis, but if all the rooms are the same then they're can't be any possibility of an upgrade, so I think you should pursue a refund on that basis x0 -
Thank you for your reply.

This must be a regular scam with Teletext.
Had we not queried why there was no bath when we had paid £80 for an upgrade, we would not have known we had been scammed.
Having booked many holidays with them, I wonder how many times this has occurred in the past.
We spent 3 days trying to contact them as there was no Local Agent and we only then had 2 days of the Holiday left.
I will not wait any longer and will take Legal Advice.0
