So sorry to hear your son didn't get his first choice m-u-m, my daughter, who's now in 5th year originally didn't get her first choice, however she was top of the waiting list for that school and I received a call a few weeks later saying that a place had become available,so it might be worth checking to see if there is a waiting list.
I'm sitting waiting on the post praying that my younger daughter gets her first choice as she is also borderline
  • Wow m-u-m I'm shocked that the minimum has jumped 8 in one year! So sorry that your sons disappointed. That makes me a bit nervous waiting for the letter. I'm not sure what school it is but from the history you posted their scores do seem to jump from year to year. Was your second choice a grammar or secondary? I'm not too sure about the appeals process tho it was in one of the transfer information books we got.

    How long's a piece of string ???????????????????????

We waited until 12.45pm this time 4 years ago - yet postie normally comes about 9.30 or 10am.

The longer it goes on the more we worry ........................
  • I think that it could be the volume of applicants this year. My Daughter got her fourth choice which we are still happy with but in previous years her score of 101 would have been enough for her first three choices.
  • Hi Huglett

4th choice with such a high score - that's a shock too. I'm glad yous are happy though.

Do you mind sharing with us the 3 schools for which 101 was not enough ?

Huglett - that is really bad luck as 101 would certainly have been good in previous years - extremely unlucky to miss out on all 3 schools when your DD has done so well.
