Daughter got into first choice, happy. From reading the posts this morning, it seems like the marks required have gone up for some schools compared to the last few years. I know from DD that some others have been disappointed that they had a mark that would previously have got them through, but this year no.

Just want to say big thanks to Veggie for starting this forum and everyone who contributed esp flymetothemoon.

For those who didn't get into choice, there is an appeals process in the letter we received today, I wil try and find a link online

Our boy got into 1st choice, Belfast Royal Academy - what a relief. Thought postie was never going to come, he finally arrived 12.55pm

Thanks veggie Northern Ireland, delighted for your sister also. Yep, who knows they may end up in class together. Have a good summer everyone, it has been great chatting and getting support from everyone. Absolutely thrilled that my DS got into his first choice school of Grosvenor. Of course he's so laid back he was playing on his x-box within 5 minutes of opening the letter! Family meal to celebrate tonight.:j

Thank goodness it's all over - I never want to see another AQE paper ever again!

Long waited post arrived about 3 with news of first choice school. Just in time to get a phone call to let us know before we turned phone off to go into cinema to spend the afternoon with George Clooney.

Finally got home from work about 5.30 and we are all absolutely delighted...daughter got her first choice of Slemish College:j:j:j

For anyone that's interested, Strathearn has posted the following on their webiste today (as they have done in previous years).



This year Strathearn had 191 applications for just 110 places.
The outcome of this process was
All 101 applicants with AQE scores from 107 to 127 were admitted.
This left a pool of 16 pupils with scores between 104 and 106, from which 9 pupils were selected......
