My uncle already has Sky but wants Sky+. We got Sky+ in August and went through Quidco. Is that still the best way to do it? I don't think he wants all the channels but just the 1 - 6 mixes. I see Quidco are offering £125 cashback - is that for the basic Sky+ package or do you have to take Sports/Movies.Telephne and Broadband?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Any Sky package where you subscribe for 12 months from a basic 2 Mixes Sky Digibox upwards will do.

This increased Cashback by Quidco of £125 (up from £110) is amazing. Is this really what Comet and Currys get per customer for signing people up. Buy now before the Quidco offer is reduced I say. It can't go up any more from that amount.

Some of us who took out this deal in the early stages will see the 6 month period expire in January - don't forget to post about any offers, inducements, threats, f... u.. etc.

    Seasons Greetings to all, Doug.

There is always the hope they will simply forget to cut people off from their two free Mixes, given that desubscribing from Sky would normally require positive customer action.

But here Sky have to act proactively to cut the customer off, which they are not so used to doing................

Or they may just try billing us in the hope we cough up eh!

Has everybody else had to send in their direct debit details?

I received a letter yesterday saying that if I did not return the DD details within 5 days I would have to pay cancellation charges? Why do I need to send this in if it was only a one off payment?

    Thanks

    Product Information

For £75 new Sky TV customers get over 200 free digital TV channels & 4 months of Sky's 4 most popular Entertainment Mixes (normally £19/month). After 4 months you'll receive Sky TV for £19/month. If you no longer want to receive Sky TV let Sky know & you can continue with the free channels.

Call Sky (08705 95 95 95) & quote the reference number located in your pack to book installation. You'll need your credit card/Direct Debit details ready - this allows you to order Pay Per View movies & events & continue to watch Sky TV at the end of the 4 months. Standard installation is free. Non standard installation costs extra. You must get any consents required (e.g.landlords).

Only available to new Sky digital customers who haven’t previously entered into an Interactive Discount Contract, Sky TV Month by Month equipment offer or whose household has benefited from either. Offer limited to 1 per household.

BBC channels are available as part of your licence fee. Free channels are those available on the digital satellite platform from time to time, many of which are provided by third party broadcasters. Prices/channels/programmes subject to change. Sky Box Office movies & other Pay per view events cost extra.

You can receive a free standard Sky box without subscribing to Sky digital or buying up this pack. Sky selects your equipment. Free Sky box must be connected to a telephone line for 12 months. Warranty is against faults arising in first 12 months & does not affect your statutory rights. Charges may apply after end of warranty period. Viewing cards re-issued within 5 years are free of charge, charges map apply to replacements thereafter.

Sky News is available without a subscription. You must be 18 or over. Information only applies to customers in the UK, Channel Islands & Isle of Man. Calls cost up to 8p/minute plus a 6p connection fee for BT customers. Charges from other providers may vary. Information correct at 19/11/07

My wife also received a letter, but in the form of a bill (we have no DD set up), which is looking for one month's subscription from the date our six free months viewing of the extra channels expires plus a £4 charge for the invoice.

The bill is going back unpaid and endorsed to the effect that we have no requirement for supply of the additional mixes from this date, and under the terms of the original offer we have nothing further to pay - ever!

We shall see what they make of that.

SORRY FOR SHOUTING, BUT READERS SHOULD NOTE THAT THE ABOVE REFERS TO THE LATEST OFFER, NOT THE ORIGINAL OFFER WHICH WAS FOR ADDITIONAL CHANNELS FOR 6 MONTHS. See previous posts in mid 2007 as most of us have never completed DDs, as we were not required to under the offer terms.

Be warned, these jokers will try sending you bills once your free channels period is up.
In addition to this, I've been told that I'm unable to cancel until the day on which the offer runs out, and I suspect that they're going to try charging me.
Was informed by the very snotty woman on the phone that the channels would be blocked as of the last day, but that I was in a 12 month contract.

Not an at all happy bunny- If they try and send collections or anything else, I will personally strangle whoevers at the other end of the phone ;)
