Got mine complete with free Ipod shuffle, came very soon after ordering. The free Ipod shuffle was quite a bargain, works a treat and has to be worth about 30 to 40 quid. So with the 10% off and using my Egg card I got quite a bargain.

Oh, I spoke to a guy at sky earlier and he said that it would cost me £55 if i didnt have a phone line (which i dont). Im confused. It says on teh Dixon webiste £25.

Im really not happy with what Ive seen so far.

I had exactly this problem today. I had already asked sky rep on phone to have the opt-out of BT line - but the person on the phone said that the engineer would be able to offer solutions The engineer was at my house ready to install, and I was against running cabling through my newly decorated hall (I only want sky as our freeview reception is so bad). So he said all I had to do was speak to customer services. He Phoned a number (using my phone !!) - and two "Customer service " (I use the term very loosely here!!!) reps, told me I had to pay the £25 opt out fee as well as an installation fee of £30, I esplained this was included in the £75 - but it fell on deaf ears, and they kept referring me back to Dixons (even though my contract is with sky - AAARGH :mad: !!!). They told me to get a refund for the £30 with Dixons - I told her that she was bullying me into paying another £30, for something I had already paid for.

Anyway I eventually got through on the 0870 number on the original "Pay once watch forever" letter, and the guy said I did not have to pay !!!! HOWEVER - they had to cancel that installation, and rearrange another, in order to send the engineeer a job number. CRAZY - no skin off my nose, they have to arrange for an engineer to come out twice . . . . ?

"Customer service", and mad organisation - I'm begining to regret this already

PS have not actually had it installed yet . . .

I have registered at Dixons website - offer back on a few days ago. How do I use the SKY10 10% code ? All I have done is register interest via the site..

Just ordered the sky £75 package from Dixons this morning. I had an email from them today telling me they had them back in stock.

While completing the checkout theres an option for you to enter a promotional code. You can put SKY10 here and then update your shopping cart. £7.50 will be taken off.

Shame this time around theres no free gift, but you do get 4 mixes instead of 2, though only for 4 months. This is good for us because we cant get freeview at all and analogue TV is unwatchable! So a good price as it is cheaper than getting a TV aerial installed.

My wife has a problem with me arranging installation on the front or sides of the house. If its at the back there may need to be some additional mountings. Does anyone know if I can cancel the deal if the installation is not appropriate?

When you ring up to arrange the installation they do ask (a couple of times) if you have a landline. If not, I think that there is an extra £25 charge.
