Thanks for that! You know your stuff. I think freesat, which I was favouring before, would be a bit expensive when you're including the installation. Although the fact it offers no-subscription hd does appeal.

Sky hd is very expensive to pay monthly as well as the installation. Virgin media hd is a bit of a blur to me, the website is quite awful...

It appears there may be methods to get HD on a Virgin Media V+ cable box without a subscription but they seem technically very complex and I am not sure they are completely legitimate.

    See https://www.techwatch.co.uk/forums/25527-virgin-media-v-hd-modding-2.html

The price of Freesat PVRs (boxes with hard drives that can record) is bound to halve within the next 12 months once they have got the early adopters to pay a long way over the odds. So may be a present for next xmas then.........
  • Sorry if this question has been asked and answered already but i didn't read the whole thread because of its length.

I want to get the sky pay once watch forever package but i'm living with my parents who already have sky TV. My question is, if i were to get this package would sky tell me i cant get it because sky is already installed at my house? also would getting multiroom offer the same results I.E i get multiroom installed pay for a month or so, i stop paying each month, they cut off my subscription channels which leave me with the free to view ones or have i got that completely wrong?

*EDIT* the sky in my house down stairs is in my dads name, i have never had a sky subscription in my name and im over 18, hope that helps

Are people who took up this offer recently, having problems cancelling after 4 months ?
