I've just called Sky and asked them about what to do when the free period ends. They said they can cancel the two mixes there and then - the chap suggested I call back on the last day of our free 6 month period and it will be cancelled immediately.
As we've previously discovered, the secret seems to be to call 08700 240 777 which is the number dedicated to this Pay Once Watch Forever, and the people who answer do know what you're talking about, and are helpful. If you use the 08702 404040 or any of the saynoto0870 alternatives, you get through to the usual Sky customer service who don't seem to know anything about the POWF scheme.
Hope this helps (and hope it works for us when the free period finishes)0 -
Fingers crossed..... my brother won't thank me otherwise lolHelp me to help you :santa2:0

This is a 6 month contract and after the 6 months unless you contact sky you will start payng for the 2 mix and £15, after the 6 months end you will not be entered into another contract as the deal was only for 6 months. Some of the documentation you recieve will advise you that sky will contact you but it is best to contact them yourself. Remember sky charge one month in advance so contact them one month before if you dont wish to continue as if you dont this will reslult in the 7 month paymet coming out in the 6 monthi used to hate it when aunts and grans would come up to me at weddings pinch my cheeks and say "your next, your next". well they stoped that crap when i started to do the same to them at funerals:rotfl:0

sooooo I am stuck in the contract ... I've had their letter.....Help me to help you :santa2:0

Well I bought mine on July 11th 2007. So they have just sent a bill - I should still be able to cancel right??Help me to help you :santa2:0

My wife also received a letter, but in the form of a bill (we have no DD set up), which is looking for one month's subscription from the date our six free months viewing of the extra channels expires plus a £4 charge for the invoice.
The bill is going back unpaid and endorsed to the effect that we have no requirement for supply of the additional mixes from this date, and under the terms of the original offer we have nothing further to pay - ever!
We shall see what they make of that.
For the benefit of all I have repeated my previous post, however to be clear I am talking about the original £79/6 month offer which is pretty clear on the back of the packaging that you do not have to continue beyond the 6 month contract.
BE WARNED, the newer £75/4 month offer may well have had the small print tightened up, so read the packaging and bumpf (which I hope you all kept) carefully. We still await a response from SKY, but the ball is in their court.0 -
Am I right in thinking you got TWO mixes with the original pack (six months) ?
Do Sky leave these running AFTER the six months has elapsed ? If so it would appear they are trying to lull you into "receipt" of the services (the mixes which are charged for) and then charging you for them.
I have seen the new pack with FOUR mixes for FOUR months advertised for £75 in a Dixons branch.
Whilst the headline is all about "pay once - watch forever" the new pack stresses YOU must contact them before the 4 months is up OTHERWISE you will be charged £19 a month.0 -
But the old deal with the Pay once watch forever and now I am told it is a contract and that my brother will have to pay £19 for six monthsHelp me to help you :santa2:0

Is your brother's £19 made up of £15 for the TWO mix pack and £4 for paying "other" than direct debit/credit card.
It's just that figure - £19 - equates to the monthly fee of the NEW package if you don't cancel within the set time. Although this is for FOUR mixes.0 -

Absolutely untrue!!!!!!!!
The following are selected quotes from the original "£75
one off payment" box.
"What you'll get with this pack...
No contract = no monthly fee
6 months Sky TV"
"6 months of our two most popular Entertainment Mixes......."
"After 6 months you'll continue to have access to over 200 free channels with no ongonig commitment to Sky. If you like you can choose to subscribe to any of Sky 's TV packages, starting from just £15 per month."
Pretty clear to me, just not to Sky!0
