I fail to see what this Sky deal can offer me that as a Freeview customer I haven't got already.0

Well I quite like the BBC1 regional stations (sky broadcast them all) like Points West news from Bristol which reminds me of living there. BBC1 Scotland also showed the Celtic game tonight.
And of course there is the Audi channel. Great stuff..0 -

Travel Channel, Zone Reality, Performance, CNN, Bloomberg, Euronews and timeshifted versions of Film 4, Five US and Five Life. There's also a bunch of music channels, kids channels and specialist and outright bizarre things like The Wedding Channel and The Golf Channel.
There's a lot of rubbish and with a Sky box you can't hide channels you don't subscribe to or are not interested in but I still think it's a good deal and compliments Freeview.0 -
Beware of this ... Double check everything! I tried to do this back in July and it caused no end of problems.
Sky got a digit of my house number wrong which was only spotted when the guy came to fit the dish, We already had a dish from previous occupants, however they said it would not be possible to use as the dish was on the back of the house - where it had to be to pick up the signal, but our lounge is in the front, the man said they would need to fit the dish on the chimney but this wouldn't cost extra.. I though great!
When he called up to arrange for the special roof fitting team to come he told them the details were wrong. The person at the head office said that to amend the record (to change 1 digit in the house number) they would have to delete the whole order and put it on the system again! However when they went to do this every person at sky I spoke to had no knowledge of this offer they claimed it isn't on their system so they wanted me to pay £100 set up fee so we could have the free sat system and they would credit it back on the account - as i only wanted it for the free sat this was not an option as i had no intention of paying for any subscriptions. they then said well you'll have to speak to someone else In total i spend 2.5 hours on the phone to sky at a high cost number and they still couldn't resolve it it then took another hour on another day to try and cancel the whole thing.
All I can do is repeat previous advise I have given, that is that the product is a good one, but that anybody going for it should read all the posts on this thread and ONLY use the special 0870 number for this product as the small team at this number does know all about the product. Also keep all your correspondence and packaging until the six months has passed. Good luck.0 -
Living in the the hills of the Shropshire Badlands we cannot even receive Channel 5 let alone Freeview, so this should prove a great saving.:beer:0

After reading the whole thread i have decided to buy this. We have just moved and cant receive freeview due to very poor reception, even the regular five channels are very snowy so this should sort it, thanks guys. I love my gorgeous little girl0

Enter HIGH5 at Dixons checkout to get 5% off; total reduced to £71.25. (Got this from HotUKDeals)
Plus, you can get 2 Nectar points per pound or, I think, 0.5% cashback through Quidco. (I did the former.)0 -
Thanks for the code - i had already bought but useful for others. I did use Quidco though so a small saving there!
I opted for the free mobile as my new one broke, so this will be better than the old brick im using at the moment. I love my gorgeous little girl0 -
My sister (in South Wales) ordered the £75 Sky deal and before the end of the six month period decided it was not for her. She phoned SKY and wrote a letter giving 1 months notice to cancel. Since then she has had constant threats from SKY of legal action who refuse to accept the cancellation. The matter is now with Livingstone Trading Standards (SKY apparently will not deal with any other office).0

What was she canceling? She had a six month contract paid up front. Unless she gave them DD details then the contract was finished and SKY can go swing for it.............."Success is not to be measured by the position someone has reached in life, but the obstacles he has overcome while trying to succeed."
