  • I actually got a call from SKY this evening and our installation is all booked - well almost -the latest date they can give us is 27th September and we will be away then so I've to phone next week to reschedule. I have to say the young woman I dealt with was very helpful, apologised for delay which she said has been down a problem with the booking page on the system and they seem to have sorted out their line re bank details/standing orders and I was given the option to provide the info or not which I declined without any problem.
  • Good news - got a call from Sky at 4pm - install booked for Saturday 22 September - no issues with 'Will' who called - very helpful - confirmed that I did not have to sign a direct debit etc
  • I bought mine from Asda some months ago, but did not activate it because I was having building work done on the house. I phoned two weeks ago and had exactly the same problem, was promised a call back in two days, yadda yadda.

Now I wonder if they'll honour this new offer alongside the "Pay once, view forever" deal?

basically £99 for a sky plus box + £15 install and no extra monthly fee.

Anyone on the £75 deal want to try it?

  • Dunno if it has been mentioned but don't try and change your two free mixes; I tried and they would if they could stop my 6 month free mixes. It must be costing them a fortune. Hehehehehehe, unlucky Sky, payback time.

We changed our free mixes no problem, as long as you wait 4 weeks we were told it isn't a problem.
  • The offer is back in stock on the Dixons web site today.

  • hi I too have ordered one today, on the Dixon's site it does mention that if you do not have a telephone socket close by or do not wish to have the system connected to thr telephone socket then they will charge an extra £25 quid. Some time ago i saw a device that you could plug into any mains socket and then into this plug any corded telephone. I presume you could plg the sky telephone line into this.

    thanks

Does anyone know why it needs a telephone line if the signal is received by a satellite dish? It sounds like a means of the Sky box communicating with HQ.

Apparently you can unplug the phone no probs unless you have Sky multiroom. By the way, I had no probs swapping my 2 mixes - changed one of them to the Kids mix. Having it installed on Mon.
